Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Honestly? Might as well add in McCain and Biden. They all scare the crap out of me. But there's no way in Hell I'm voting Republican this time around. If I'm gonna be scared anyway, might as well go a whole 'nuther direction.

Arthur, I'm VERY concerned. B.O. is sooooooooo Liberal and their agenda is to head us in a direction of SOCIALISM. I can't stomach that, and will NEVER vote for anybody (black, white or in-between) that pushes us in that direction. I guess we'll just cancel out votes.

I don't see how it can get much worse. Heck, I was P.O.'d at Bush and his crew of idiots BEFORE this economic mess got started and was dead set on voting against every Republican on the ballot. I'm well beyond pissed now.

My grampa told me, many years ago, that "Only a damned fool would ever vote for a Republican." I'm a Reagan Democrat, so that means I've been a damned fool for 26 years. The '06 election was the last straight Republican ticket this old Reagan Democrat will ever check off. I don't intend to be a fool again. This is not the beginning of a new experiment, younggun, it's the end of an old one. I've followed this path as far as I can because now I see where it's been leading.

It's back to my old stompin' grounds. I'd like to see if there are any more old Southern Conservative Democrats who are sick enough of the GOP to join up with the Blue Dog Democrats in the House and the New Democrat Coalition in the Senate to try and take back our old party.

Unfortunately your 'conservative blue dog democrat' party is being run by a bunch of liberal leftists...

People forget that so many of us supported going into Iraq, and the 17 resolutions the UN passed before we went in. Its terrible that we had to do it, but I think we should finish what we started. Millions of people in Iraq will be screwed if we leave before the job is finished.

And the economy? It was your blue dog dems that pushed the subprime loans, not to mention they were the heads of fannie and freddie. If you're going to blame bush you better put some blame on your beloved Pelosi and her democrat controlled congress, because they've had two years to do something... And did they? In my opinion i think everyone is to blame, both dems, republicans, and especially the debt ridden consumers in this country.

Besides, I think the recession is a natural cycle that is part of capitalism, it allows the system to naturally weed out the un-profitable ventures, and leans out the system... Sure it sucks, and people loose money and jobs, also, it sucks ifsomeone's job gets sent overseas, get-over it, learn a newer, better skill and get another job. Dont complain that someone got your job because they could do the same exact thing for 1/4 of the wage....

This isn't the recession! We've been in a recession for at least a year now, but your peerless leader and his deregulating brownnosers won't admit it. This thing has skeedaddled way beyond a recession and is on the brink of being a complete global economic meltdown. Iceland is already right on the edge of bankruptcy! All across Europe and Asia the gov'ts are doing bailouts similar to what we're doing. And nobody knows if any of it is going to work. Ain't that fun! [>:]

You know, you're right that Democrats started this sub prime lending stuff. Problem is, they did it while there were regulations in place to prohibit the kind of excesses and predatory lending practices that got us to this point. It was McCain's economic guru, Phil Gramm, who pushed through the deregulation that created the housing bubble and made all this possible. You'd have thought we'd have learned a lesson from only 10 years before they shoved that bill past Clinton's nose... Seems they forgot how deregulation lead to the savings and loan collapse and the deep recession and massive gov't bailout that went with it.

Oh well. One thing's for sure. McCain's much vaunted experience definitely includes helping create economic disasters. Anyway...

To most of you, anyone to the left of Rush Limbaugh is a commie. I know that. No skin off my nose. I would've figured you'd be glad to get rid of a RINO out of your midst and perpetuate the purity of 'your kind' of people. [8D]

Besides, you've got Lieberman to replace me!
