I heard an analysis from CNN International, that if the race is tied at 269 electoral votes come election day, that the Senate and the House would decide the positions.
The House, which picks the President, would obviously vote for Obama, and he'd be the next President, BUT that's not all, the Senate, votes for the Vice President, and guess what? The Republicans would win that vote, with Ted Kennedy gone and Joe Liebermann, a Democrat, on the Republican side, with no Republicans defecting, then Sarah Palin would become the next Vice-President.
What would an Obama-Palin administration look like? Divided government at its finest.I'll actually be able to sleep at night.
One thing's for sure, that Palin would become probably the most influential VP for awhile, so that she could counter Obama. But honestly, if all this is what it comes down to, politics aside, I'm just going to laugh.
Unless something changes it won't even be a close election.
Brother, you are blessed to live in a place not dominated by urban liberal types. You may not realize how urban our population has become, or how stupid public education has made the majority of us. This election should not be close, but I think it will be. I'm brushing up on my Spanish, just in case.

That's pretty much the only explanation I can see for both parties' gradual drift further and further to the left over the last 40 years, to the point that the Democrat Party is now controlled by Socialists, Obama is their Presidential candidate, and enough sheep appear ready to vote for him that he could very likely win.
Howard Sterns had a guy go down to Georgia (I think that is where he went) and talk to people about who they were going to vote for. THe guy purposely changed the VP's around and also Obama's and McCain's stances. The guy then asked them if Obama made a good choice of VP in Palin and the people didnt even realize she wasnt his VP pick. They were mainly voting for him because he was black. Only one person that they interviewed said he was voting for McCain and he got the VP wrong also.
That's really not the point here,I was wondering what you guys would think if we had an Obama Prez and a Palin VP.
What do you think of divided government? Anything? This isn't another "bash the liberals, let's dance naked around the campfire with warpaint on" thread, it's supposed to be about the topic at hand.
What makes you think Palin would be the automatic choice for VP in this scenario? They could actually nominate McCain couldn't they or anyone else for that matter. What makes you think Kennedy is out of the picture? He has not died.
Palin would be the last choice of the Senate. Remember the seante really doesn't like Mccain and I am sure they too are embarassed by his choice. Do you think they want that winking finger pointing joe six-pack "I'll hav ta gut bak ta ya on dat" sitting in the chair at the front of their very respected chamber.
Argument is rediculous since we will continue to see the spiraling downward of "The Maverick"
Cant wait tosee his next knee jerk reaction. Let's just get voters to stop thinking about losing their houses, life savings, jobsand the economy and think about Obama being a domestic terrorist. Give me a break!!!!!!!!!!
