Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default What is required in a president?

We want a leader, don"t we? And what is it that makes a leader, a good one? Is it the ability to navigate through rough waters when life throws up a storm beyond our control? Sure, that would be a leader, but not a supreme one. The one were looking for is the one who predicts it"s coming as well and steers us out of it"s way. The first one is caught off guard and handles it the second avoids it all together.

Do we necessarily want one who possesses this ability alone or one who surrounds themselves with like minded people, many of whom are more knowledgeable than themselves? Most definitely!

With this wealth of knowledge do we not want a heart to go with it? A heart like Jean Valjean? ("Jean Valjean is the chief protagonist of Victor Hugo's 1862 novel Les Misérables, or, The Miserable Ones in English translation.") Absolutely! Knowledge without love is corruption. The love we need is one that loves this country, it"s future, and the people as well. One that lifts people up. One that convinces people of right and wrong for their own good as well as ours. One that knows how difficult it is to get through this life and has no desire to do it alone, a team player withall people of this country. I must say though,a Jean Valjean in todays politics would truely be a miserable one though, but they'd have me for one and he did win in the end.

Who is this person? A historian with a heart. Find that person. All we have todayare people with a knowledge of history who use it for their"s and their own good. Corruption.

The election hasn"t taken place yet!

Are you insinuating that we need a Frenchman to be our President?

That they have a pulse. Being braindead of course might be your ticket to actually getting elected.

The book is a very long read with over 300 years of french history, few have read it, but the movie

Valjean was played by an Irishman.

Think of a debate that's intellectual were questions and answers enlighten it's viewers. A course of action based on what has and has not worked. Questions like "Was the financial collapse of the early 1800's in the North the stimulus for the expansion of government which led to the civil war?" People are loosing large amounts of wealth now and finding protection for it in the government. It's the same as then and it led to the north controlling things like tariffs/tax's which they became exempt from while the south did not. Couple that with the desire to take what the south had and add in an emotional situation like slavery which caused the religious to support for any reason even theft, (which is very similar to the entire book of judges in the bible) and you end up with the same thing, civil war. Brother killing brother some for noble reasons and an elite few doing just what Hamilton said this countries function was "The wealthy to make money off of it"!

You nor I have ever seen this kind of president or debate. What we have had are savvy people who know how to play the people like a harp. The recent VP debate is proof, it was built up by the media like it was a boxing match. It had everything except the "pay per view" tag. Saw in the news it had record viewer ship. I didn't see it but I'm sure it was worthless. They strummed it and the people sang. Predictable! As predictable as the drop in oil just before the election has been.
