Does T. Boone mention on his website that he has a vested interest in this? He stands to make millions if his plan is embraced. So I have to question his motive.

Motive, yes. Also, if we put 150 million cars on natural gas, won't that unbelievable increase in demand skyrocket the cost of natural gas? It's one thing to say it costs 40% less than gasoline at the pumps BEFORE we switch cars to it, quite another to suggest it would still be cheaper at all AFTER the switch.
This is a great plan. Pickens is non-partisan so it will probably tank.
BUT, It certainlyIS the way America needs to go - energy independence that is. With that goal achieved, we will be stronger than any military might could ever bring.

An American will make a bunch of money off of this deal? OMG! you mean all that money WON'T go to an Islamic State Sponsor of Terrorism - like it has traditionally done? WOW!

T Boone is a gas man, do you think he be involved unless he was going to stand to make millions more!!! I don't trust him one bit. I signed papers over two years ago for royalties on gas wells I haven't seen a dime yetfrom Chesapeakegas.

Natural Gasis the ONLY alternative energy that's half way there. It will still require trillions of dollars to get there and only is viable for the short commute ie less than 100 miles round trip. If we were really serious and wanted to make a change, we would need to remove all of the home appliances off the system and convert them to electric. Our energy we use toady is something around 38% oil and 32% natural gas. You can put that high of a demand on the natural gas system and not expect prices to go through the roof. If you have natural gas in your home currently and do a short commute. Make the switch. There are natural gas vehilces you can buy. You only need to have a filling station installed in your garage and pay road taxes monthly. For me, I like the 500+ miles I get from my tank of gas and will be sticking to gas for a very long time.

How long do you think it will take to transition to NG or any of the other technologies? A few years in most likelihood.. Like others havesaid supply and demand will determinethe price and what it will bebe when fully implemented. It will probably beright where we are with GAsoline. Meanwhile what do we do with300 million cars thatburn gasoline? Right we keep importing and turn billionaires into trillionaires in the Persian Gulf.Because of inaction on the part of the dummycrats who ran both houses 40 out of the last 50 years andwho tried to appease their tree hugging leftwing environmental radicals we are where we are today. We should have built more refineries, drilled offshore in more places, installed more pipelines, built more nuclear reactors, upgraded our energy grid, mined more clean burning coal, built more windfarms and pushed solar energyall under the umbrella of a national energy plan. One of the candidates is on record against Nukes.I'll let you guess who it is.That is what is known as lack of leadership and we are paying the price for it folks.

If T Boone is pushing it, he has money on the line. I agree with his plan, even though he made loads of Texans made back in the day.

Its not a matter of changing cars in for CNG burning cars. You can convert all 300 million to burn CNG. It is not that hard of a conversion. I converted a truck to propane back in the 80s. I assume the coversion would not be that big of a deal. What the intial cost would be? I dont know. Im just suggesting that we can convert what he have already over to natural gas.
An up side, natural gas and propane burn much cleaner which helps keep your engine cleaner and running smoother.
