The body count! In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago, less than 200 brave and honorable troops killed in Iraq.
Sens. Barack Obama & Dick Durbin, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., Gov. Rod Blogojevich, Senator Emil Jones, House leader Mike Madigan, Atty. Gen. Lisa Madigan, Mayor Richard Daley.....our leadership in Illinois....all Democrats and all supporting Obama for president!
The combat zone in Chicago is worse than Iraq, yet Chicagoans are not allowed to carry concealed weapons, let alone keep them in their homes in Cook County. Everyone blames each other for the mess of course, they can't blame Republicans, there aren't any in power! It is easy to buy a gun, find a local gang member and within an hour you have your choice of handgun, why buy legal when there is a waiting period and paper trail if you buy legally?
State pension fund $44 Billion in debt, worst in country. Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. Chicago school system one of the worst in country. This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois, did he do anything to help our state????
He's gonna "fix" Washington politics? How can you take on the country when you have no positive effect on your state? Illinois is a bigger mess than the country and this yahoo thinks he can bring change? Look where Illinois is at and you might realize an Obamafied USA!!!

I work in DC and see what unabated democrat policies do. This city is a pig stye with little more than murder, welfare and gubment criminals who steal from DC taxpayers. Walk down the street and you'll see more locals drinking alcohol from brown paper bags on the front stoop of their government subsidized housing at 10:00 AM on a Tuesday than you can shake a stick at.
I am absolutely NOT surprised that the democratic myth of fewer guns, fewer murders has fallen short in Illinois as it has DC. I'll bet by and large, the two cities are eerily similar.

Crime is everywhere why try to make it the Democrats faults...and dont try to make it out like Chicago is the Only city in IL theres 12,000,000 total popin the State Chicago has a pop of 3,000,000 every big city has Crime Problems but i suppose your all gonna say its the Dems fault for every Metropolitian area in the world eh????
your from IL you know theres way more to the state than CHICAGO....Chicago has always had its problems with Crime....its always been a violent city....its also one of the most Segregated cities as far as Skin color and where you live. anyone thats beento Chicago or any big city knows the deal.

Crime is everywhere....
crime magnifies itself in highly dense populated areas everyone knows that....if you had tolive within a block of 10,000 crazy people all day everyday as a normal person you might endup insane after a few months/years...
itscompletely different in the sticks....people have space and can get away....people in big citys just feel crammed together...and tempers tend to flare.
every big city has BIG CRIME PROBLEMS.

Thanks Mr Alpha Capo for clarifying why there is so much crime in big cities. Based on the links you supplied it appears that LA Chicago and NY have by far the highest crime rates. WHat do these three gems have in common? Don't you think Restrictive gun laws would have helped that violent crime?

it doesnt matter if you need to protect yourself you can get a gun the same way the criminals do...and innocent peopledo.
you think because some dummy says you cant have guns that People in big cities dont use them to protect themselves....theres guns in everyother apartment in Chicago.

the politicians have to do something when the community screams about gun crime all the time and Kids are getting shot up....and the last thing someone who just had their family shot up wants to here is "Guns for everyone...go crazy folks."
im not anti gun..... but i understand whats really going on in the City's. and im not gonna point my finger and say thay crime is so and so's fault...and pretend like i know what the **** is going on in some criminals mind and why he acted up 180 miles away from me right now. bottom line SOMEPEOPLE ARE CRAZY...thats why you have crime.
