Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default What do you guys think of the latest bailout/pork passed by the Senate...

This is pathetic. As if 700 bil wasnt enough they go back and re-write it and make it 850 bil in pork and deficit spending to get the votes it needs. Its got handouts for everything from the Rum indistry to kids wooden arrows with railroad and Nascar tracks receiving handouts as well. Heres a short list...

New tax breaks earmarks in Bailout bill
[ul][*]Film and Television Productions (Up to $15,000,000.00; Sec. 502)[*]Wooden Arrows designed for use by children (Sec. 503)[*]6 page package of earmarks for litigants in the 1989 Exxon Valdez incident, Alaska (Sec. 504) [/ul]
Tax break earmark "extenders" in the bailout bill
[ul][*]Virgin Island and Puerto Rican Rum (Section 308)[*]American Samoa (Sec. 309)[*]Mine Rescue Teams (Sec. 310)[*]Mine Safety Equipment (Sec. 311)[*]Domestic Production Activities in Puerto Rico (Sec. 312)[*]Indian Tribes (Sec. 314, 315)[*]Railroads (Sec. 316)[*]Auto Racing Tracks (317)[*]District of Columbia (Sec. 322)[*]Wool Research (Sec. 325) [/ul]

To be honest with you guys this seems pretty disgusting to me. These guys are so out of touch our only hope is that the roof falls in while they are in session because it doesnt seem like anyone has the balls to vote them out.

What do you folks think?

I think its absurd that they would add pork to this bill... we are in a crisis and they still try to pull that crap?

I live in NE NJ in the NYC metro area and I can smell the bacon all the way up here. Did any of you see how even Feinsteins office was being inundated with 92,000 calls yesterday as of approx 8PM with 86,000 urging a NO vote. From what was being reported on CNN and Fox that just about every Congressman's office was receiving similar percentages of calls. I would love it if the house voted it down again.

Unfortunately it was the only way the House Republicans would vote for it.

Is this in the bill the Senate passed last night? McCain and Obama BOTH voted for it by the way which makes them both worthless in my book!
