Default Obama's record regarding criminal punishment

The matter of Obama (and Biden's) stance on gun control has been discussed in fair detail. However, I would like to shed a little light on his voting record regarding crime and punishment:

Obama opposed measures forbidding convicts on probation or bail from having contact with street gangs.

He voted against a measure that would have expanded the death penalty to include some gang activity, specifically gang bangers who shoot and kill police officers. Turning it into a race issue, he said he felt like cracking down on gang activity unfairly "singled out" young men of color. In fact, he opposes any measure that increases penalties for crimes that occur due to gang affiliation or gang activity.

He has consistently opposed most pro-death penalty measures.

He voted "present" when a bill was presented that would have invoked adult penalties for aggravated discharge of a firearm in schools.

He also voted "present" on a bill that would increase penalties for drug trafficking. He mentions "dabbling" in drugs himself in his book.

He did not vote on an act that would have made illegal gun possession a felony.

He made monitoring "racial profiling" mandatory, require the police to keep records of the races of the people they arrest.

He hindered the prosecution of homicides by imposing additional restrictions on the ability of police to conduct interrogations.

He opposes allowing the police to enter places they know are dangerous to themselves without knocking and announcing their presence.

He supports letting most felons out early.

He wants to create a "civil rights division" to oversee law enforcement and prosecution, because he feels both are ultimately to blame for what he terms a disparity in sentencing between races.

He does not believe the American jury system fairly sentences people of color, and would like some oversight on them as well.

The only legislation I am aware of he supports that actually increases punishment for crimes is more hate crime legislation.

If legislation against gang activity unfairly targets young men of color, who does hate crime legislation target?

Many of those who vote for the likes of Obama are convicted felons. Liberal Democrats in general, and Obama in particular, are opposed for any meaningful punishment for convicted felons. Those same scummny politicians have no problem taking away your right to own a gun for self defense.

Looks like he is staying true to hiscode. Bigger and bigger government. Brought to you by your tax dollars. It is scary to think of the judges he would appoint.

McCain/ Palin in 08. No way I would vote for Obama. My wife thought he was a great candidate which represented change but after seeing what he really represents she changed her mind.

Obamas record on anything would depend on the day of the week , what state he was in, his poll numbers and whatever his handlers put on his teleprompter.Oh and I almost forgot what the wicked witch Michelle told him to say My freaking Dachshund has more common sense then Obama.

Interesting that none of the "usual suspects" have come onto this thread to defend their prince of fools...
