According to many in the media, we truly have discovered someone worse than Hitler "” and it's Sarah Palin.Head to any left-wing blog or even CNN for that matter and you'll find the zaniest of conspiracies -- froth that even a dude with rabies would find unseemly.[/b]
So how can one person create so much bile among folks who claim to be the most tolerant in the universe? I mean, liberals are the good people: They're open-minded, caring and of course, fair.
But somehow, a Republican lady in her 40s is exempt from this treatment. Perhaps, she truly is the devil in a dress, a ghoul that eats children and pollutes the planet and possibly beats Barack Obama, the patron saint of every customer buying wheat germ in bulk at GNC.
But I know the real reason why every single elitist media type is terrified of her. They've never met her. And by "her," I don't mean Sarah Palin. I mean "her", an actual normal woman with a bunch of kids, an average husband and no desire to watch "The L Word."
She's scary to these folks the way Wal-Mart is scary to them: Both are alien to someone who blogs about their chakras. They won't go there, because they've never been there.
To them, hating Sarah Palin is a symptom of larger bigotry against the rest of us, the normal. If they saw her at a party, they would wonder how she got in. She's the anti-Obama, the anti-New York Times, the anti-everything that Tim Robbins loves, which is why I love her "” and you should too.[/align]

Just got an email from a colleague who stated that Palin shoots wolves out of helicopters with a "machine" gun. Of course, he is a limousine liberal who is frantic because of her impact on the race at this point.

Some of you guys are really something. Like the right-wing and many here didn't call Hillary, Hitlery, and every other derogatory name under the sun? You guys sound like a bunch of whining schoolgirls who lost their Barbie dolls. Politics IS dirty and both sides can play dirty. You should have learned this fact by now.

Uh, if i recall, Hilary was running for the head job. The fact that the left is going after a VP candidate equally harsh does seem a bit much. However, I agreethat elections get dirty in terms of the actions of both sides of the aisle and it is her turn in the barrel now that she has thrown her hat in the ring.

Valid points are welcomed. But experience and demonizing her 17 year old daughter for being pregnant are two points Obama supporters have no standing to make.

They are going after her because the left can't dig up enough dirt on McCain that will stick. Not that it's right, but as I said politics is dirty and getting dirtier all the time. I don't think anyone should be surprised by any of this. It's all a big smoke screen by both sides just so no one needs to talk about real issues and solutions to problems because from what I see neither side has any good ideas on anything.

In Obama's defense, he did say that the candidates families should be off limits. What fanatical left-wing bloggers and others might say he has little control over just as McCain has little control over what right-wingers may be saying about Obama's wife. What others say against the other candidate may surely hurt their own candidate, but I highly doubt the mudslinging will end. This election is getting dirtier by the minute it seems.

I agree US magazine is one of those fanatical left wing outfits, along with MSNBC, for its headline announcing the Palin pick as something to the effect of :

McCain chooses Sarah Palin. How many houses does this add to the republican ticket?

Keep in mind that Obama says that families should be off limits, but his wife is out actively campaigning for him. As far as i am concern, once you start regulalry getting in front of a microphone, then you have painted a target on your back. If palin's husband starts going out and regulalry stumping for her, then i would expect the same thing. But i doubt that a pregnant 17 yeargirl was gonna address the DNC like Michelle Obama did, so one would think that she would be off limits.

Though I have some reservations regarding her bringing a weird and potientially dangerous Christian fundamentalisteschatology to the White House, I think she's great!
