Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

If you aint cheating, then you aint trying.

I wasn't involved because it wasn't my account, but I am very aware of a special trip to Larry Flint's Club bya sales team in my old company and the customer's approval committee. I know that over 10K was spent in just a few hours and do know some hanky panky pretty much did go on. The fall out took months to evolve. A senior VP was dismissed from the customer, other members were removed off the committee and my old company received a black eye that they had to deal with. Bottom line, this stuff goes on all the time. Also if your dealing with folks from Asia, you almost have to expect it.

I hope these transgressions will not force me to suffer at the pump. Put the screws to those involved and open the oil field to help us. Clean house.

Nearly all of those employees were probably in their jobs well before Bush got in office, a good gig like that is like gold to fed employees and they're loath to leave them, especially if the post is close to where they currently live or wish to. BTW, wasn't Colorado a dem state in the last several elections? Also strange that the ones yelling "Foul!" the loudest are all demmies, methinks they doth protest too much.

well kev, i was actually trying to avoid turning this one into a partisan issue (i really just wanted an opportunity to use the "drilling" entendre. i'm still giggling over that one, stuck as i am emotionally in junior high)

but since you ask,

it occurred on W's watch, and a culture of accountability, or lack thereof, generally begins at the top and works its way down?

Bush's department of Interior. These people are Republicans under Bush and are just an example of, just part of the crooked deal making involved with this Republican administration.

So the POTUS is now personally responsible for the actions of every little pissant employee of the vast federal goob? Kinda pisses on the concept of "delegation of authority", now doesn't it? Those people were supposed to have been directly overseen by their immediate supervisors just like any other employee, and those supervisors have bosses of their own, so apparently Wya was gettin' a piece and smoking dope along with them? That's a stretch Boysda, even for a lawyer...
