Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Why are we bailling out Detroit?

Pelosi has pushed through a bill costing us tax payer 50 billion to bail out Detroit. Why are they wasting our money? Great article yesterday in the WSJ suggest we don't do it, save the tax payers 50 billion and just eliminate the stupid CAFE standards.

CAFE standards are no more than welfare for selective folks. It is trying to force americans to drive what congress wants us to drive not what we the supposedly free people want to drive. I for one don't care and have no plans to buy a car that gets anywhere near their high milage standard. I love my Expedition at 300K miles just like the day I bought it. When it finally dies, I'm replacing it with an Excursion. I love my S320 it's a tank. Depending on how I drive it, it get around 20, however I still love to race a few cars from time to time. That car is a blast, eventhough it's huge, it drives like it's a lot smaller. So tell me exactly why can't we let the free market determine what America drives and save the tax payer 50 billion?

It's just another step in the plan to turn us into a socialist state. It'll be like Freddie and Fannie.... $50 Billion in "bail-out money" today, "well... you're now in U.S. receivership" tomorrow. They've taken over the largest chunk of the mortgage industry. Next appears to be the auto industry. Soon it'll be the airlines....

All you have to say is Pelosy and you got your answer.

On the other hand, I like to save money. I am not rich enough to blow it on gas. But the choice as to what they manufacture should be left up to the company. Are we not a free interprise nation?

Its almost like they're preparing for an Obama presidency. Gearing up for his "economic justice" platform which is really nothing more than a socialist style government. Lehman Bros is next just watch. Personally I feel like if a company cant cut it in the free market, it either makes necessary changes or succumb to the economic conditions and fail. Instead they are giving these companies billions in taxpayer dollars.

BTW, Hello everyone, I'm Ryan. Recent Bannee from michigan-sportsman.com. They didnt like my political views over there. Which is strange considering I'm a staunch conservative, you would think such beliefs would have a place on a hunting forum.. anyways.. Here I am.

Because the democrats are in bed with the UAW and the other big unions. They are just looking out for their special interests, at our expense of course.

Again, more "Vote for me, I'll give you money, save your job, and pay for your retirement"

This tactic has been tried for years by the dems...
