Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Obama's imploding

This "lipstick on a pig" comment is going to crush him. I can agree it was mainly refering to McCain's policies however, don't tell me there wasn't an underlying innuendo towards Palin. Bottom line, that comment will have days of reruns and hours worth of discusion which equals continued negative press for Obama! His campaign is imploding quickly.

This will not be an easy election no matter how much he screws up, the media will CHA_ _ ! The democrats have no response for Palin and it is interesting that Osama Hussien keeps attacking her, the VP pick?! McCain just keeps smiling, Biden is a non issue and is keeeping a low profile. The republican message is getting out now and all the democrats seeem to be retaliating wiht is attacks on the "Hockey Mom". Where is Michele and where is HilBilly? They haven't promised HilBilly enough yet , so they are not getting her venoimous attacks , YET! Pelosi is trying but all the rhetoric she has spewed about women in power would go back in her face is she mouths off, in addition to her career roles over the years. This is a trip!

Gotta love it! The pig comment alone should cost him an additional2% of the vote by my guess!

I think Obama is in over his head. I think he was put up as a token candidate to oppose Clinton. But the dislike of Clinton was underestimated and he wound up narrowly winning the nomination. His inexperience is beginning to show.

Like it or not he should have gone with Hitlery if he truly wanted to win. Biden was a good pick for him but it gave the GOP a chance to over trump since they had a later convention and could nominate their person after the dem pick. Had he picked Clinton it would have been more difficult to come up with a VP pick that was effective to stop the momentum. McCain did it perfectly and Obama is still reeling. You can see it in his face he is starting to look whipped.

Well, YOU can say it all you want, but Obama will not get removed from the ticket. It's a ridiculous notion.

Frankly, I think the "lipstick" comment is very bizzare. When I listened to Obama deliver that line, in context, I thought . . . "Hmmm. Much ado about nothing. Linking this to a surrepticious slap at Palin, that's a reach." But I've never heard this expression before. Has anyone else? "Lipstick on a pig?" Maybe that is a sub-culture cliche that I'm just not familiar with. "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear." I've heard that expression before. "Lipstick on a pig?" I guess I would like to hear some explanation of where that expression comes from. On the other hand, if that is an Obama coinage, well, yes, then I've got to think that a clever guy like Obama can identify the multiple ramifications of such an utterance and that intending and wielding artfully not only primary meanings and secondary meanings -- as the greater orator, let's not forget -- but also tertiary meanings are within his ken. But any way you slice it, Obama is taking heat for this and losing some points.

My preference would be to fight head on the substance of Obama's attack rather than the throw away "lipstick on a pig" line. But this kind of reactive action drains the blood and doesn't accomplish much. The damage is done. What are ya' gonna' do? Go after the "lip stick on a pig."
