Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default N.R.A Endorsed Democrat

Quick question, a lot of you have said that gun control is one of the top 1-2 things you look at when examining a candidate and for what they stand. That being said, would your opinion of a democratic candidate likely change if they were fully endorsed by the NRA? Thoughts?

I personally look at the candidates without regard to political affiliation as a first course of voter information. Historically I feel we have done better with GOP leadership so I lean that way. It does seem the dems are pretty much against the second ammendment. Leaning left is usally the kiss of death for gun rights.

Everyone knows that not every Democrat is anti-gun, just as all Republicans don't march lock-step behind the pro-gun lobby. Anyone who votes strictly along party lines isn't very smart. And that applies to every issue, not just gun control. I've seen it argued that you have to consider the overall balance of power in the House or Senate when voting (i.e., your candidate may be a Democrat who is pro-gun, but electing him may help tip the Senate in favor of the Democrats, which wouldn't be a good thing for gunowners overall). I'll admit there is a lot of truth in that thinking, but I refuse to vote for any candidate if I have to hold my nose to do so.

The NRA routinely endorses Democrats, which proves what folks like Obama would rather deny: The NRA is not a Republican establishment. It's a pro-gun establishment. No more, no less (And, trust me, I'm not a fan of the NRA for reasons I won't go into here).

I am leary of voting for a Demorat even if they are pro gun. This is only because even if they are pro-gun themselves, they are very apt to vote with their party on any bill including anti gun. As party the Dem's support more gun laws much more than Republicans. Unless this changes, I won't take a chance.

Under the right conditions, if the NRA rated the Democrat superior to the Republican, I would vote for him.

To answer that question look at PA politics.
