His voting records are pretty upsetting due to the fact that he was listed as present with one of the largest percentages in the senate. He did this in order to not cast a vote and take a side in any of the controversial bills. I tend to agree with those who believe the highlighted statement. This man is a graduate of Columbia and Harvard, simply, he has the mental and intellectual capacity that most people only dream about. That being said, people as smart as him realize the repercussions of their actions. What I'm saying is he would realize that, if he were voting present just to remain uncontroversial, once he ran for president or another important office people would pick him apart and say that he has no backbone and won't vote on any issues. Just my opinion

I agree with C.I. He's written two memoirs even though he has very little experience. Reminds me of Kerry acting out scenes from Nam. Even if Obama didn't have POTUS in mind, voting present instead of taking a stand on the issues is not a characteristic most like to see in a President who will be expected to take tough stands on issues.

BTW, his comments on race fit perfectly with his family's close association with Wright for 20 plus years, as well as his wife's comments on being proud of her country for the first time as an adult only when her husband was running a successful campaign to be the democrat nominee.

Ugh... The true shame of the 'obama phenomenon' is the support of his vile creature by the media
and the leftist elite in this country. Couple that with the populist support he enjoys as a result of the media,
especially from 'rank and file', more traditional democrats and you have a party lining up to gag as they try to cram the obama 'road apple' down their throats.

Going to school in the 60's, obama's political stance was taught in my grammar school as something the 'commies' and 'russians' did and was something to be abhorred and fought. I believe that to this day ....
