The latest Zoggby poll shows McCain with an about 4% lead over Obama (Specifically 49.7% versus 45.9% -- a 3.8% spread which I rounded). This is pleasing news. Of course, much depends on the distribution of the votes, as it is the electoral college and not the popular vote that decides the presidential election.
Is that the air rushing out of the Democrat's balloon I hear? Is that rain falling on the Democrat's parade? Should Obama/Biden falter, how will the Democrats view this? Did they count their chickens before they were hatched? Were they guilty of some kind of hubris? Wasn't the election all stacked up, packaged, and wrapped with a bow for them? Perhaps not. Maybe that was all just media propaganda all along -- the talk of how awful the Bush administration was, how awful the Republicans were, how awful the economy was, how awful Iraq was going. The media and Democrats forgot that the legislature -- dominated by a Democrat majority in both houses -- had an approval rating even lower than Bush's. Iraq seems to be showing signs of success (Obama admitted the surge is working). The US economy grew by 3% in the second quarter, the best in the industrialized world. Unemployment, while nudging over 6%, is not so bad as in 2003 and not nearly so badas in the rest of the industrialized world. Oil nearly $140/barrel in June seems to be headed below $100/barrel. I guess the voters may be thinking some things through on their own and maybe listening to other sources of information than the discredited media propaganda machine. But it is too early to gloat just now. November is some months away. But . . . clearly the Republican prospects for a presidential victory are not dead, as the media had once prognosticated.

who are they asking???? you ever been polled??? anyone here ever been polled??? i havent.

Now polls don't mean anything? I agree that polls only manage to capture a snapshot of public opinion at any given time and cannot be used solely in making decisions. They do reflect, however, the public's perception of an issue(s) at that particular moment in time.

I really hope your kidding! Obama WILL ruin this country!
I don't see how anyone can support Obama!
So please, list the reasons WHY YOU support him...?

so you dont think obamaÂ*could beatÂ*McCains old stiff rickety temper-tantrum throwing ...Deleted by CalHunter... in the Gerneral election???
you must beÂ*dillusional.
You sure did infer a lot into my LOL. Yes, I do think Obama can beat McCain. I also think McCain can beat Obama. The polls are tied and McCain has the momentum at the moment. Despite this, you say McCain doesn't have a chance. Either you're psychic, or it is you who is delusional.

i still dont understand stating polls as a valid Reference to how the General election will play out..
ill say again that its my very strong belief that the polls are worthless tools the media uses to tell the people what they are thinking is ok......if the Polls were lopsided...80% to 20% nobody would watch cable news...but instead they drag everything out and for some reason have a ton of people Mezmerized and baffled at the same time.
Mark it on your calander that Alpha says Obama wins the General electionby a landslide.
i cant look into the future...but that is my honest....unbiashypothesis of the election outcome.
based oneverything ive seen/heardthe last year and a half... popular vote will be close but McCain cant win in the elecoral's when it counts.
why i support obamba???? Why should i support that Joker John McCain?????
how anyone could vote McCain is the Question??? all you guys were talking about how horrible he was 3 months ago and how your all gonna hold your nose to vote just so obama cant win....
Palin's luster will fade and republicans will be way behind in a month and a half.
McCain is a one trick Pony
not something we need in the whitehouse....on top of that i seriously doubt his intelligence. ...what happens if he has a permanent senior moment???
