Default Natural Resources did anyone ever

see it squandered like they are in this country?

[ol][*]Endless Forests that are off limits to loggersand have becomefire traps because they need thinning. I base some of thison what I see on my hunting trips. The Yellowstone fire should be a clear reminder of how not to manage a forest.[*]Oil and Gas that is off limits to exploration even though clean technology is available to retrieve the resources.[*]Refineries that need to be rebuilt and more that have to be builtand no one wants them near them.[*]Most fertile land on earth that is being mismanaged and used to grow fuel of all things[*]Coal and mineral deposits that were placed off limits by previous administrations.[/ol]
The Envirowackos have evidently done a good job brainwashing a large segment of our citizens.

You know what's nice? I own my ground and have had Oil & Gas leases for a couple years now. EPA'd up the yahoo and they do a verynice job of using the and keeping the natural resources on my ground safe and clean. The wildlife actually feeds on a plot I put right beside the well head. They don't care, it is like a big rock to them. IF that pump would stop, that would probably concern the wildlife. Notice i said I own, do we as a citizen own these areas being managed by the government we support? Why can't this be put to an election and we vote on our use of these resources? I know, I know sometimes I don't have a clue but look forward to why it can't happen. Good Hunting!

Because we are not a democracy, we're a Federal Republic, which isa severelycustomized form, let's just say, of a representative democracy.

Speaking of mismanaged forests, one only needs to look to the west of Rocky Mtn. National Park and see the devistation of trees do to beetle kill. IF that isn't enough reason to allow more logging, I don't know what is. Hundreds of thousands of acres of dead standing trees just waiting for a spark and CO. will have it's largest wildfire to date, and I'll bet ol' Al Gore and his cronies will blame the fire on.....what else..................Global Warming.

There is logging going on now in that area, but not hardly any of National Forest ground, but much of the private ground is being logged like you've never seen, with many home owners footing the bill with hopes of saving thier house once the emminent fire gets started.

Most of the farmers i know who own fertile land and are getting about 13 or 14 bucks a bushel for soy beans don't exactly see their resourcess as being squandered.

I suspect they'll photoshop a couple photos of Bush and Cheney accidently causing the fire while they're barbequing a penguin...

Depends on how you define squandered, go down to the Amazon some time and watch logging companies strip the jungle bare without replanting as we do here. You can't really squander something without using it up in some way, so what we're doing is actually resource conservationfrom a certain point of view.
Here's what squander actually means, I don't think your definition applies here:

Main Entry:
1 :to spend extravagantly or foolishly :dissipate, waste <squandered a fortune> 2 :to cause to disperse :scatter 3 :to lose (as an advantage or opportunity) through negligence or inaction intransitive verb

Granted, definition #3 may apply right now, but only if those resources stay locked away forever, which we all know they won't.

And in a lot of places land is constantly being farmed with no restand what are the long term effects that has on it . Not good
