I heard part of a story on Fox News a few minutes ago that said after the Democraticconvention was over theDemocrat personeldiscarded close to 12,000 American flags into trash bins and trash bags just because they were finished waving them on tv. The McCain/Palin people took posession of them and are going to distribute them to the people at some Colorado gatherings and to veterans groups.

I'm sure someone will ask for documentation....not suprising though.

I was listening to an internet broadcast during the DNC, where they had a "green theme". There were different bins set up for different types of trash--then someone noticed that every bin got emptied into the same dumpster. Again, not suprising.

Yes, I saw that,McCain gave them out in Colorado Springs.

knew id see something about this on here....sure does make Obama look bad....even tho it wasnt directly his fault. sounds kinda odd that someone would pick them up and take them all the way fromDenver to colorado springs..and then spewed the story to FOX news reporters. sounds to me like they might be stolen property....depending on where they were actually picked up from.

If I had one, I'd keep it. Dems use them for photo ops and discard them immediately thereafter.

its just a story to make Obama look bad....funny thing is, all those little american flags were probably made in CHINA

How would they be stolen property if whatever less than wise democrat in charge of this item at their convention had them thrown away in a dumpster? It's actually a heck of a PR gimmick to take the same flags to different gatherings and especially clever to hand them out to vets after John Kerry's blunders in 2004.

Obviously their cost for this campaign tactic would be minimal since the flags were free and they were going to these locations anyway. The PR value would be enormous for Americans who get mad at people throwing flags away or disrespecting flags. And there actually is a protocol for getting rid of flags that are no longer serviceable but it doesn't involve simply throwing them in a dumpster.

I heard that McCain told the people in Colorado Springs that if they didn't want to keep the flags, that was recovered from the denver national convention, then he would put them on the graves of fallen soldiers.
