The campaign of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., likes to herald the independence of its new running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Officials of the Alaskan Independence Party say that Palin was once so independent, she was once a member of their party, which, since the 1970s, has been pushing for a legal vote for Alaskans to decide whether or not residents of the 49th state can secede from the United States.
And while McCain's motto -- as seen in a new TV ad -- is "Country First," the AIP's motto is the exact opposite -- "Alaska First -- Alaska Always."
I'm all for it! Let's call it "Jesusland" I'm ready to get away from the failed socialism of the liberal dems!!! Y'all go join Canada, we'll be just finewithout you.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit. Alaska is a mineral state. They know how to use their Gog given resources to benifit the people of Alaska. They a sick and tired of folks in the lower 48 telling them how to run their business. We have idiots who have never been to ANWR calling it a pristine wilderness,hardly. We have the grennie wennies declaring Polar Bear's endangered, despite a very large health population. This is now threatining to block oil leases on an oil field with 15 billion barrels.
They don't need to seccede, all states need to do what Ok tried to get passed. That was a declaration of States Rights affirmed in the Constitution and tell the Federal Governemnt to reign in their power they don't have.

Well, she is that, but that's beside the point. What's amazing to me is Palin can be forgiven for everything - minimal experience, not knowing what it is she's going to be doing if they win the election, under investigation for misuse of office, having ties to a secessionist group and ??? - just because she hunts and fishes.
Having a hunter and fisherman a heartbeat away from being President would be icing on the cake. Unfortunately, she is all icing and no cake.
