I have to admit, when the phone rang early in the AM and my buddy told me "it's Palin", I told them to go to hell and let me sleep, stupid joker. When I finally turned the morning news on an hour later, I laughed so damned hard my sides hurt!
I kinda like Sarah, a bit of a renegade, not too enmeshed in the slimy republican party up here (worst in the nation), and she has a populist side that makes this old democrat smile from time to time. However, those who know her well know that she is not quite ready for prime time. That journalism degree from Idaho U sure makes good bird cage liner, but it does not exactly cut it with thecut throat DC crowd. In fact, my lower 48 Republican father (not a Christian fundamentalist like most of you, he is a Wall Street Type Republican.) asked me "Is John McCain running for the PTA or POTUS?"

Ya see, I keep getting this image in my head of Vladamir "the wolf" Putin, ex KGB, and most certianly the most dangerous man in the world (he makes Ahmadinejad look like a teddy bear) sitting on one side of the table, and on the other, our own dear Sarah Palin. Me thinks the Democrat doth protest too much! I think you can make a strong case for how much Palin has pained the Democrats by how much they are fighting to disparage and denigrate her. Yah, a woman with 80% approval rating in her home state is a nobody, a woman who beat an encumbent from her own party. Rave on, Democrats, rave on.
Nah. the Dan Quayle comparisons are already pouring in. Do you really think that Independents, the group who will most likely determine the outcome of this election, are going to support her as the Vice President? McCain is an old man who has had two bouts of cancer andyou feel this is a responsible pick?

Among those who do know her, her image is significantly more positive than negative, and her 3-to-1 positive-to-negative ratio is better than the 2-to-1 ratio measured for Biden a week ago. A large majority say that at this point her selection will not have an impact on their presidential vote either way. However, almost as many Americans say that she is not qualified to serve as president as say she is qualified, giving her a more negative reading on this measure than most other recent vice presidential selectees, with the exception of Dan Quayle. The sections that follow outline the data measured in USA Today/Gallup interviewing conducted Friday, August 29.

LOL. She beat Frank "the bank" Murkowski...he had an 8%, yes an 8% (that is not a typo) approval record. Mostly because he appointed his own daughter to his vacant Senate Seat.
Her approval rating is now about 60%, kind of bad considering oil is over $120 per barrel and the state coffers are overflowing. She is literally giving money away. Hell, even Bush could have a positive approval rating if he had that kind of money. Sarah is a nice enough lady, but not at all ready for VP. Rumor has it up here stupid Johnny Mac did not even have the brains to properly vet her. They are coming up tommorrow to start the process. Let the games begin!
