Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

It is customary to attribute who originated a quote. Who originated this one?

This reminds me of a child asking for just one cookie. After one cookie is surrendered how long is it before the child is begging for another cookie? Ridiculous example? So is this statement. The idea that gun banners will be satisfied with banning only the AK-47 is preposterous, so it is a trivial and worthless question. The principle should be considered as admitting the banning of one gun opens the door to banning others.

What is the problem with the AK-47? First, the fully automatic AK-47 is already illegal. So let's be clear that this is not the scope of this issue. What is offensive about a semi-automatic AK-47? Is the AK-47 commonly used by criminals? It sure is an easily concealed weapon. I bet a lot of criminals walk into the bank with one of those tucked into their waistband. Is the cartridge fired bythe AK-47 particularly offensive? Wouldn't an AK-47 be useful as a legitimate self-defense weapon for use by law abiding citizens in times of civil unrest -- Rodney King riots with blacks attacking and plundering Korean stores, post earthquake riots and plundering in Oakland 1989, post Hurricane Katrina? A large capacity magazine with semi-auto fire would be good to protect one's personal property.

I do not own a "black weapon" but I don't see what distinguishes such a weapon from my bolt action Springfield .30-06 or from some olther's semi-automatic high power centerfire rifle.

Clearly this quote is directed to persuade non-savy, non-gun owners to constrain and diminish the second amendment. Couldn't we make the argument "Don't tell me we can't preserve the first amendment while restricting outrageous lies and disrespect of our president!" Boy, the ACLU would be all over that one. If you can't allow an artist to display a crucifix in a beaker full of human excement we aren't free and are all slaves, per the ACLU. But it is fine to restrict gun ownership in any way according to the ACLU.

It sounds like the man who can cause the rising ocean water to cease has also figured out how to make criminals obey gun laws.....

or, maybe that is just one of the guns on his list he wants to keep out of my hands. One thing is for sure, the issue is big enough to him that he included it in his "speech of a lifetime."

I think they are still stinging from the Heller decision.

I didn't bother to listen tonight. Last night's lies were just too much.Clinton and Biden were completely lieing on stage for votes and they know most watching it (the few that were) wouldn't know any different. However, I did hear a comment tonight in an interview on the radio in regards to Obama's College career. It was worth looking into and I will do more on my own as should you. However, he quoted Obama as saying "I don't believe people should be allowed to own guns". He also claimed Obama walkedaway everytime without commentwhen offered the chance to go and have lunch and have friendly debate.

I haven't backed that up myself with other information other than his comment already on the second admendment. However, it should really make you cringe if you truely believe in the second amendment.

If you all are indicating that Obama said this during his acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention, I would say that is about as much evidence as you are going to get before the general election -- and this is plenty of proof -- that Obama intends to lead and support another assault weapons ban. Be advised that the next cycle of the assault weapons ban will NOT just ban AK-47s. The general plan of this effort has been abundently forshadowed in other actions of gun-banners. They will define broad classes of forbidden weapons, adding new features that define an "assault weapon" as something other than a fully automatic rifle.

Let me tell you how we keep AK-47's out of the hand of criminals, gun laws, will only keep guns out of the hands of law-abiding citizens, but SECURING THE BORDER, and keeping Mexican gun and drug cartels out of America, will keep the guns out of the hands of criminals.

That is how, we uphold the 2nd Amendment, and keep the guns away from criminals, but that is NOT how the Democrats are going to try to do it, bank on that........
