People are fatigued by the depressed economy and the war plodding on; And maybe a bit resentful that he hasn't skillfully articulated his plans for the wars direction and the economy's turn-around. The American public probably needs a shot in the arm by a skillful speaker, which he AIN'T.
In his defense he's a lame duck who's been ridiculed and beaten-up (perhaps deservedly so on several points) and probably isn't anxious to give anyone further ammo to beat him up. So he's "Hangin' with Mr Cheney" for the time being.
Because Dems are cry babys ,and they have no back bone,I am waiting for Obama to say he is going to take the us armed forces guns and make them all use cap gun.
Because he is that scared of a gun.
