RE: 50 million for convention security funds???!!!
I did a quick search on this topic and didn't find anything breaking down the costs line by line. I did find the below article which explains that the actual host cities get the $50 million for anti-terrorism costs and each political party only gets $16 million for their convention. I can guess that the respective cities are ramping up and planning for these conventions and would guess that a huge amount of resources are spent preparing but I don't know all of the specifics on costs.
