Why would McCain presume to usurp the Presidential privelege of nominating someone to the Supreme Court? He isn't even president, for cryin' out loud...

has to be elected by us(allegedly), and McCain himself is vying for that particular job. Did you mean "select Lieberman as his running mate?" That wouldn't make political sense, but it's an option, I suppose...

Libermann would be a terrible VP pick. If McCain does that, then he's not smart enough to be POTUS.
