I watched the entire speech, not just that little segment. The video complains about him taking a few scriptures out of context. That's exactly what they did with that speech. Swiftboaters are back.

I like how the narrator speaks for Jesus. "I can assure you, senator, that Christ would never advocate turning the other cheek to terrorists and America's enemies." How does he know? Does he have some kind of divine insight into what Christ meant when he said to turn the other cheek? Is there some kind of caveat in that biblical passage that says "except America's enemies?"

I think many public policy ideas are similar to biblical principles - but that's because many of the bible's ideas are common sense concepts of not harming your neighbor (well, the New Testament anyway). I don't advocate taking ideas directly from the bible, however, as that is exactly what we don't do in America. That's the kind of government they have in Iran.
