I was 'in' on that discussion....I would not recommend engaging these 'farmers' in any way
if there was any alternative to do otherwise. It does, however, go to the argument that
there's more crime in National Parks than people pay attention to. It just seems to be
'good sense' for one to be secure about his personal security and/or welfare whether at
home or in the woods or in a national park. When you're out in the boonies, you're on your
own so it's best to be able to keep varmints at bay....
If you listened to everything you were told and did erything you were told, where would you be????

That was talking about a national forest, where you can already carry a gun and hunt and whatever...NOT a national park. For those that don't know the difference...they should think about places like Yellowstone, Yosemite, or Glacier.
I say again, no criminal worth his weight in mary jane is going to make a positive career move by starting a drug operation in a national park. Can crime happen there?? Yes. Still, it's not like national forest, blm, or any other public land.

I only been to yellowstone once( oct 91?) but to the various national forests a number of times. But i really did like the animals the allgysers, hot pots etc there( will have to go back sometime)
I thought for sure i was going to see some pushytourists stomped, gored, etc that trip.( chasing around the buffs, elk, etc-to see who can get theclosest pictures?[&:][>:]) Almost hit a buff with my truckdriving at nite there near the gysers.
Gota do what you gota do, what each person thinks is rightwhen it comes to self defence.
( i remember one guy from france/belgim?on the news after, who was gored in the upperleg butt- who thought buffalos/bison where more like dariy cows?)

The article you referenced mentions the forest, not a park. I haven't heard of any marijuana grow operations occurring in a park but there are lots of them in the forests. Having said that, I don't think very many HNI members would argue that a citizen shouldn't be allowed to carry in a national park. It is public property and a CCW should be good there too.

Don't matter. Fact is, I believe a lot less than I listen to. The other fact is, I don't take kindly to the
feds restricting where I can be armed. If there's a place I CAN be armed, I WILL be armed there.
So, if there's a question of allowing either open or concealed carry of firearms into a national park, a national forest, a post office, ANYPLACE where the government and the anti's don't trust me to carry, or where I am currently banned from carrying, I will push for the freedom to do so, and the liberty to exercise the right.
