Default Defiant Texas Executes Mexican Murderer

Texas executed a Mexicankiller in defiance of the so called World Court. Way to go Texas.

Quote:
The International Court of Justice said Medellin and some 50 other Mexicans on death row around the U.S. should have new hearings in U.S. courts to determine whether the 1963 treaty was violated during their arrests. Medellin was the first among them to die.

President Bush asked states to review the cases, but the U.S. Supreme Court ruled earlier this year neither the president nor the international court can force Texas to wait.

I heard about that, I'm glad they got him. Of course I'm sure they are all guilty[]If Texas is sure, then your toast.

Yeah, screw international diplomacy! At what point in time has diplomacy ever gotten anyone anything? In fact, we should invade Mexico and whatever ridiculous country hosts the so-called "world court."

Look, the bottom line is that on matters of state sponsored murder, we don't need the backing of every country- we've got plenty of fine, upstanding countries in our corner. Chad, Lybia, China, Syria, Iran - that's all the denbate you need. With forward thinking countries such as these saying capital punishment is all good, you can hardly argue.

I live about three miles down the street from where the murders took place. My wife and I used to go to that park regularly to jog and have picnics with our kids. That gang brutally raped and murdered two teenage girls. Medellin earned his death. The World Court has no jurisdiction to tell the State of Texas whether it can execute a murdering scumbag piece of slime. Anyone who thinks otherwise, and anyone who does not believe Medellin deserved the death penalty is a [I decided to edit the description out, as it might constitute a rule violation].

Our world is now a better place. The only thing wrong about this is that it didn't happen 15 years ago.

International diplomacy is good - as long as our interests are put first. This person & his gang brutally raped & murdered 2 teenage girls. The death penalty was perfectly justified in this case. With heinous crimes like this, capital punishment is justified.

We do value all human life. When one human callously murders others, that human deserves the death penalty if we truly value human life.

Neither the UN nor the world court has much credibility and neither should be telling the U.S. or any of our states how to run our criminal justice system. SB, why do you think the world court should have jurisdiction over our state and federal courts?
