Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

This election will go down as one for the ages. We have someone who is a rooky and another that is over the hill. Can't we redo the primaries?

Even thought he is a left winger who flip flops, Obama does show signs of life. McCain looks like a candidate for a life transplant.

Not only that but McCain will put us right back on the road we are staring down now. We need to get far away from the same old policy.

Very old line when you can't back it up with a single fact or what your boy, curious george, is going to do. Of course the latter part isn't really your fault because Obama is future proof. He is for everything, every position and has never changed his position on any of it.

That in itself poses a dilemma in my mind. I am all for change but would have felt better if it came via a GOP candidate. I really don't think McCain is Bush 2. He has spent his whole political career following his conscience and often going against party lines which is something I can admire in a politician. I spent the better part of today watching TV since the weather has been so crappy. I really like the Sunday political shows and found myself switching all over the networks seeking their slant. It was my bday late last week and my kids and their spouses/ boyfriends all came to spend time here at the house. I can tell you one thing they all like Obama and all have read his book and are convinced that he will be the next president and will bring positive change. I made some valid arguments but feel that my political leanings which go moderate to right couldn't change their minds. Based on what I am hearing around here it will be one heck of an election and I will say at least from this small part of the country that old man McCain doesn't have a chance. He is a Viet Nam war hero and that in itself is something someone my age can hold on to. I do have a problem with him as a candidate though. I need to vote for someone I can believe in and he just doesn't fit the bill. Perhaps 8 years ago he would have worked for me ( I did vote for him in the 2000 primary) but now he is definitely not in his prime. I don"™t want a has been who is resting on his laurels but want someone who can roll up the sleeves, eliminate the gridlock and get positive results to make us all have a better life. I listen to his press releases and the way he conducts himself when posed with a question or answering for a problem generated by his campaign. He is old and getting older by the minute. About the only thing that comes out of his mouth are short one liners that are a crude attempt at humor to diffuse the question or situation. I am going to have a hard time voting for him at this point and hope he shows some sign of life and hope for our nation before the election or he is going to lose. Obama is quick to promise everything as long as it comes from a rehearsed monologue that he has certainly memorized. Watching him during live interviews when the questions aren't canned makes me believe he isn't what he portrays himself to be. So an old manor a slick fast talking greenhorn are all that we as Americans have a realistic chance of electing to steer our government going ahead. I won"™t vote for 3rd party since IMO it is just wasting my vote. I really believe my vote counts and will have to make a decision on the best of the worst and it has to be from one of the major political parties since the elected person has to interact with the rest of government Not what I was hoping for"¦"¦..

I agree that I am seeing the same thing from my small corner of the country. Although McCain has reached across party lines some. As president the pressure from his own party, and to not offend the base. He will not even get full support from the Republican base, if he doesn't agree behind closed doors to not rock the boat. The all mighty power of the lobby and special interest in place with the Bush administration will fight tooth and nail. I feel his sound bites are just that, sound bites. If true, then not much will change from the current administration plans, to me that would be like a Bush 3rd term. The last thing we need. Americans do not want to hear patriotic speech's and more tough on war talk. His speech's also all lean towards the special interest wants. Americans want to hear of "The Big Fix", wich in reality is futile. With debt at 9+trillion, McCain is going to have a hard time selling alegit policy of any type. He is already soundbiting for big oil, and others. The system has gotten so fat with special interest, that every issue has to be tip toed around like the border issue. Now that the national debt is so high, and special interest buying votes and the policies, we are in trouble. OK, I'm done Whining and crying.

I don't hold Obama to his promise to do joint townhall meetings because McCain broke (shattered!) his promise about sticking to the issues and not going negative. I wouldn't want to be on the same stage with the old bastard if he was dragging my name through the mud either. Other than maybe give him a good straight shot to the nose.

Just like Obama held his promise about doing a publicly finance election l
