Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

If I didn't know the real Savior, I would say McCain is running against god himself.

It only leaves me wondering.... I wonder when McCain is going to put out a commercial saying something affirmative about his own positions rather than just trying to blast Obama. If McCain thinks sophomoric, negative campain ads are going to make me want to vote for him, he's sadly mistaken. Stupid old git! If this crap is all he can come up with, I ain't voting for him.

I liked McCain 1.0 back in 2000. Not sure how much more of McCain 5.1 I can take. Or is it 6.0 by now? I've lost track of his flipflops. That includes the flipflop away from his rock formerly solid policy against running a negative campain. I guess that only applied to the primaries?

Just an old time Reagan Democrat, bigcountry, what they used to call a Southern Democrat. In other words, I'm a moderate who's stuck trying to decide between the Democrat's socialism on the left and the Republican's fascism on the right this time around.

In my book, negative campain ads are a negative on the person running them. I want to hear about where McCain stands on REAL issues, not his constant whiney stream of sh*t about Obama. But then, he's got Carl Rove's old running buddies working for him now, so I guess that's all we'll get from here on out. Pure BS.

I've tried to watch a few of McCain's speeches, but he always starts off with a bunch of crap about Obama and, hell, I get so bored in the first 2 minutes I can't stand to watch any more of it. He needs to ignore Obama at least once in awhile and get to his freakin' message - if he's even got one. The RNC has forced him to change positions so often, I'm not sure even he knows what he stands for any longer.

I hear ya. I am a hardcore antisocialist. Have way too much experience traveling to socialist countries seeing what they do and don't do, and sure don't want that for my country. It stagnates technology and advancement, in the meantime straps everyone in the long run.

Seems there's a lot of us in that position this cycle.

Art, as best I can tell you lost the last voice you had in DC when Zell Miller retired. I wasn't old enough to know anything about politics back when the old SD's were around, but I've got relatives that were "yellow dog Democrats" that will not vote for obama. FWIW, I'm independant conservative.

I hate McCain. He is a Dem. I feel when he gets elected this fall we need to keep him to his promises except for his idiotic global warming crap. We need border security first, we need the tax cut permanent and we need to start cutting programs and spending.

However, this election will be won on Obama. It has to be a referrendum on Obama and that's exactly the move they are making right now. Obama is being propped up by the media and is getting votes because 1 he's not a Clinton and 2 he is black. He has just once again put his foot in his mouth and played the race card.He is tanking and will continue to tank until they throw him off the top of the ticket.

I'm not sure it'd take too close of an examination to figure out why a lot of old Southern yaller dog Democrats won't vote for Obama.

I went on the Fox network and did the Candidate Matchmaker quiz. http://wnyw.4wmt.com/cmm/ Based on my answers, I got 53% match with Obama, only 30% with McCain. Of course, I don't know if the results are based on McCain version 4.0 or 6.0, or 7.1.

Anyway, the quiz matches pretty well with my gut feeling about the two. Don't really love either of them, but I gotta vote for the one that's best fit with what I believe. At this point, McCain ain't it. And he is a lot whiter than I am! [8D]

I just did that and only got 40% McCain and 10% for Obamalamadingdong. Where the other 50% went is a mystery - probably because my views are more in line with Huckabee or Ron Paul, but they are no longer running.
