RE: Why Obama Will Win
I've been thinking about this lately and perhaps it's better if Obama does win. Take a deep breath and hear me out.
Mccain is mediocre at best and if he does win it will probably be for one term only. Meanwhile, I'm guessing that the country during his potential tenure will slide a little further into the abyss of lackluster government and dismal outlook by the citizenry. Perhaps slower than it would under Obama but I still bet it will move in that direction as I have little faith in the man.
If Mc Cain does win and performs an unremarkable job, we can certainly expect the liberals to mount an almost "no-brainer" campaign next time around. Probably , in total then, subjecting the country to 4 years of very mediocre followed byprobably 8 years of (gasp!!)liberal executive power.
Perhaps though, if Obama were to win, and let's say, do a worse job, than McCain, Perhaps within two years we would have a republican majority in congress(as a backlash) and ashining star (like many thoughtthe Bush II would be) in 2012.
It's a given that we're going to be led again by a democratic president. Perhaps "later" always sounds better than "sooner", but given McCains liberal leanings yet "R" after his name, we may ask ourselves if we want 12 years of liberal control or only possibly 4.
Now wild cards to this scenario include:
1) McCain could do a surprisingly good job and springboard his vice-president (if worthy) into the following 8 years.
2) Obama could lead the country further downhill then could be made up in the next administration
Still, how long does the country go with just one party holding the executive branch...8-12 years at most. Perhaps a change for the worse is needed in order to make bigger change for the better.
If the heat is turned "way up" on the frog, he'll surely jump from the pot.
