Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default V.P.

I think the general consensus is that the presidential race doesn't have a slam dunk favorite, so who could McCain select that could help him close out the dealwith a vice-presidential running mate. Gen. Powell would be my first choice, but I doubt he would run. The Lousianna senator has a strong personality, little experience (although more than Hussein). Condalesa (sp?) Rice, I just don't know.

Jindal, Crist or Romney. Jindal is of Indian (red dot type)heritage so I doubt that would be the pick although he is considered brilliant. Romney looks good and wants the nod. I think Crist said he didn't want it. I say Romney....and it will be President Romney in 2012.

The more I check the more I like Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. I think Jindal has already said no way. My guess is that McCain will go with Romney... a sure ticket to defeat IMO.

The prisons are full of running mates that would fit his criteria, Bush found Cheney, so McCain can find a crook also, no prob.

Reportedly, Powell is on McCain's short list. Of course, that list varies depending upon which McCain insider is being used as a source for the report. It would be a bit awkward for Powell to accept the veep slot for McCain after he has hinted that he might endorse Obama.

Jindal has withdrawn himself from consideration. Crist would be a huge mistake, IMO. I like Romney, and I think Romney would bring a lot to the table, but Romney also carries probably more baggage than any other candidate. Rob Portman, the Congressman from Ohio, would be a good pick, but his ties to the Bush administration also be extra baggage.

The one candidate who doesn't come with a major negative (other than inexperience, and I don't really think that's a negative for the VP slot), in my opinion, is Sarah Palin. Her gender might prove to be a negative to some, so it would be a gamble, but I think there's a world of potential there for McCain, as I've stated previously. But she's not going to the pick. It's going to be either Romney or Tim Pawlenty, IMO.

Powell, I believe is sorta moderate to maybe even left leaning, but I think the guy has integrity. I wouldn't mind seeing that combo.
