Default Beagle mauls boy to death

http://www.wapt.com/news/16961102/detail.html

JACKSON, Miss. -- Jackson Police said that investigators are questioning the parents of a 3-year-old boy who was mauled to death by a pit bull.

The incident happened at 112 Maple Ridge shortly before 9 p.m Tuesday.

Police said prior to the deadly attack, the toddler wandered into the carport where the pit bull was chained up.

Somehow, I knew it wasn't really a beagle...

Stupid cop should have kept shooting until the dog was no longer "dangerous"...

I can't imagine the grief I would feel if that was my child.

The owner of that pitbull should have been drug away with one of those choke poles as well.[8D]

Should people be responsible for the actions of the animals that they own or are these things just "accidents"???

I've lost track of the instances where the owners waxed eloquently about how it was a horrible accident and the pit bull had never misbehaved before. In this instance, who knows. Maybe the pit bull owner will end up suing the toddlers parents for the kid trespassing[:-]

I hope the owner of the dog falls into lifelong financial ruin from lawyers and lawsuits. Then again, it seems that most people who own pitbulls are drug dealers and other lowlifes, with a smidge of good responsible owners thrown into the mix.

You know I can see both sides of this. My son was mauled by or own German shepard when he was about two,the dog had never acted aggresive toward him before that. Never got the chance to do it after I had him put down that day.

The difference in what my dog did, took the my son down like he would a puppy to dominate him (over 60 stiches in his face) and a pitbull attack is the pits don't stop.

If I'm reading the article correctly, it looks like it was the pit bull owners' child that was killed. I kinda doubt they will sue themselves.

EDIT: The article appears to have been edited since I first read it. The dog was not owned by the child's parents.
