Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Media crush on Obama

I understand that the McCain people have been talking about the apparent "love affair" that the news media has for Obama. This would seem, on the surface, to be good for Obama. On the other hand, maybe the opposite effect will occur. There is a certain aspect of "preaching to the choir" that may be at play. For example, how many readers of the New York Times and the Washington Post are going to be converted by adoring coverage of those newspapers to covert to Obama? The likelyhood is that the faithful readers of the New Yort Times and the Washington Post are liberals and are already fully sold on Obama. Others, the independents and the middle of the roaders, may see this and be appalled by the kid glove treatment, the fawning.

Another possible effect is that Obama may be isolated and insulated from the real world and ad lib some damaging liberal proposals or nuggets of wisdom that reveal too much of his real character, such as the fine words he said about small town people "clinging" to their religion and their guns.

Thoughts?

To some extent I can understand why Obama is getting so much love on his trip abroad. I would assume that lots of folks are interested inhearing aboutthe first black presidential candidate, and one with a muslim name at that, touring the Middle East. But, it is really overkill. And, i agree that it can may have the opposite effect in terms of turning off the moderate independents who are gonna be the ones who carry this election. Of course, it was a stroke of genius for the Obama camp to get his wife the hell away from the cameras. That alone will likely get him a 5 point bounce in the polls.

Well I already believe they have done a serious disservice to the Dem's. During the debates they were afraid to ask the hard questions. They got love affair questions and now they have an extremly weak canidate on their side. This trip overseas has been a disaster for Obama if it would get covered. However, they are doing their best to hide it but cracks have happened and a few reports are getting out.
