BERLIN - Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki says U.S. troops should leave Iraq "as soon as possible," according to a magazine report, and he called presidential candidate Barack Obama's suggestion of 16 months "the right timeframe for a withdrawal."
The Iraqi government wantsUS troops out of their country. Give them what they want. Any US president who sends troops into Iraq after a US withdrawl is a blithering idiot. Just like the blithering idiot who ordered the invasion of Iraq.
First off, you have to consider the source of the article. It's a liberal German press piece not picked up anywhere else so far. You have to consider the fact they want to prop up Obama on his campaign swing through Europe. I'm all for pulling them out and victory has always been when they stand up, we stand down. However, time will tell if this is just politics going on in Iraq to allow Al Maliki to run left of Al Sadar. The Sunnis don't want us to leave just yet and I'm not sure the Kurds do either. Either way, Bush will get the credit as he should if they do leave. They have been talkingaboutshifting some tothem into Afghanistan for many months now. Second if true, this makes both Bush and McCain look very good and Obama weak. Up until last week Obama has called the surge part of the problem and not the solution. He's on record crediting the Sunni's for the drop in violence not the very troops he wants to become their Commander in Cheif. He's in a tough spot when he comes back. Does he praise the surge and say it has worked so you can bring them home? Does he continue his line that it was the Sunni's who did this not the troops. Then what will he say about Afghanistan? Does he call for a surge there? How does he explain why the surge would work there if he can't credit the troops in Iraq?

Yep, there is the obligatory statement from FM that the piece is from a liberal rag since it did not show up on Lush Rimbaugh or Coulterdiest.
No falcon it's the truth. To take a quote from Neal Boortz, Always get at least two sources before you run with it. I seem to remember a thread blaming Bush for the Salmanila out break and tomottos. Looks like you where wrong on that thread. It's funny how when you lack comprehension of the facts you have to go on the attack. In this piece you attack some folks never once brought up in this.[:-] Truth be told all Obama has to say is that he's for the second admenment and your all on board. I have news for you falcon, he has already taken the position so your free to vote for him.
