Default Are we better or worse off now???

then we were at the beginning of Bush II's presidency??

I know "911 changed everything". I'm not talking about that. Is your sense of hope and belief in Americaand the AmericanSystemas good as it was??

It seems most of the time we are faced with a choice of candidateswhere we have to pick the one that will do the least harm. That in itself, over time, indicates that in general there may be an overall wrong direction we're going in.

What's better than it was in 2000??

(1) I'm in a 5.5% mortgage in my home that will pay off in 2018. I refinanced my home, originally purchased in 1996 at 7.5% fixed interest 30 year mortgage, in 2003 to a 5.5% fixed interest 15 year morgage. Basically, my monthly payments remained unchanged, but I shaved some 8 total years off of my payoff of the house. That changed, and that is better.

My youngest sister -- a liberal Democrat -- refinanced her condominium in about the same time from a higher interest rate mortgage to a 5.5% fixed interest 15 year mortgage, again shaving years off her payoff date. that changed, and that is better.

Did any others, possibly, refinance with lower rate fixed interest loans during this time???? I bet lots of people did so. That changed, and that's better.

(2) Two new, young supreme court justices appointed to the court, thanks to whom -- at least in part -- we had a positive ruling for the second amendment in June. That changed, and that is better.

(3) Since 2000 my income is well more than double that with good prospects for yet further significant improvements, contingent onmy own diligence and acumen. That changed, and that is better. I'm an employee, not a business owner.

It has been a total loss for the country, a small amount of people say better, either for party or for their own benafits. The majority, and I'm talking about the most of america, will tell you we are much worse off. Of course the question of this post does not require input. Everyone in this forum knows what a flop the Republicans have been, greed and money the root of all evil. This is by far the worst of the worst, we need major change.

Darn, you forgot to mention that George Bush and Cheney sit in the Oval Office and drink the blood of Gentile children[]

I have to agree with you lanse. A lot of babbling but very short on the facts. The fact is however, more people have moved from the lower classes in society to the next class up. The only class that saw a decline was the very upper class. FYI rainmaker, that's an official government study released by the IRS.
