Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Bush will lift executive ban on offshore drilling

Breaking news this morning. Anyone heard or seen other news releases ?

Update: Bush will speak at 1:30pm from white house rose garden today.

Is this merely a symbolic gesture? Could be unless Congress follows thru...Dems right?

Update: Here we go, Foxnews

I think both the Executive Ban and Congressional action will be required for FULL oil exploration everywhere. Unless Congress quits playing power politics, ANWAR and the other areas still won't be able to be touched.

This might put some more pressure on Congress. Congress is about out of scape goats to blame the problem of high oil prices on!

Why didn't he do this in his first term?

Because he didn't need too. We were paying $1.90/gallon of gas.

An interesting take on the congress issue:

I think congress wont take any actions on oil or the economy because they know if we start a recovery it lessens the chances Obama will win. And most in this county only hear Bush bashing and they dont think for themselves to realizethat the Democrat controlled congress didnt do anything either...

I hate how the politicians only care about themselves and their party's power... This goes to both sides... We should go back to the old way where politicians weren't paid for their service...
