Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default what if...

What if the west suddenly increased prices for drilling and oilfield equipment that is purchased by the Arabs?

Raise prices for all replacementparts for existing equipment there too...you know recoupe some money..

I mean, raise prices real good, blow 'em up real good...

That could make some sense but only after we cozy up to Canada regarding the oil we are currently purchasing from them. Alsoget serious about our own refining and possible drilling options ... andinitiate some nuclear energyalternatives, more than we have ever shown.
As long as the Arabs see our steadfastness towards reducing our demand for their oil there could be concessions.
If we raise equipment prices before we are prepared to replace the Arab-supplied oil from other sources they'll just step on their prices accordingly, IMO.

What'll happen is that the Russians get all equipment contracts from then on. Additionally, the prices of oil will spike globally as supplies tighten. Not cool...

So it is a basic catch 22 no matter how you slice it.

There must be some products they export that can be purchased elsewhere in the world, except olives.

I hate olives and dislike the people who grow them.

Import a couple of thousand pigs and let them go all along the border. Flood the airwaves with "eat pork the other meat". Do a fly over and spread bacon bits all over the country.
