LOL, I thought that was done after the FAFSA was processed. $#@#[:@] I didn't get the Cal Grant too because I missed the March 2nd deadline. Oh well, I still have a second chance for that.
There's still EOPS though! They pay for books and the college units. I believe I also can release the hounds if I get that service to shuffle that financial aid to my favor if I'm approved. Sadly, whites and asians are less likely to get it. Also people who have parents that speak Spanish are more likely to get it.[:@] I think I'm about 1/16th Indian and my birth certificate doesn't say what my ethnicity is. What do ya guys think? I'm gonna get those tax dollars!

Well, work study is heck of a lot better. I wanted to be a math tutor. You actually get to take some breaks.
Then feel privlage. I like many of my friends in college worked full or at least heavy part time hours, went to school full time because graduating was our number one priority and sleeping is what we got to do during our brake time.

On the bright side, it's a surplus. Pell Grant + BOGW + Supplemental Grant + Academic Competitiveness Grant = $6300. Probably $5700 after classes and books for the year. Assuming I don't get anything else. I keep hearing about people being $20000+ in debt.
I'm still mad about starting college so late. If I started at 16, I would have gotten 40000+ in aid for 4 years and would have already graduated.[:@] Hell, they even let ya start at 18 with no GED or anything! You also have a better chance of getting EOPS too if there's no high school diploma or GED.[]
The really sad news is the fact that your probably right. My question then is on what grounds does Obama have when he is calling for paying the college tutition for all kids wanting to go to college? Where in the costitution are you guaranteed the right to attend 1 through 12 for free let alone college? Second, with all the aid that is available with the only requirementbeing that the student must spend time researching, filling out the paper work and submitting it on time why should we make it easier? If they can't do that minimal work, what makes them worth a dime of stolen money from the working class? If they can't pass that simplest formof an entrance exam, how are theygoing toshow up to class on time, pay attention, do research, fill out forms in the way of home work, turn them in on time, study for exams, and pass the exams?

Actually the financial aid advisors sometimes tell people the wrong info. When I first went to the financial aid office, they said I couldn't even get a loan. For the 08-09 year, they told me I needed my Dad's income tax return. Found out I didn't need it when I gave it to them.

No we aren't. You keep insisting as if it's all the federal government. FYI, the federal government only covers about 10% of the schools' budgets. All the states want free education. EOPS, Cal Grants, free K-12, etc. isn't because of the federal government.
BTW, I can't quit taking that money. For one, if you scratch my back, I'll scratch your back. Everyone else is taking it. And two, I need to get this show on the road.
