Salmonella = terrorism ?

Not that it's happened yet but it would be very easy for terrorist to taint our food. Just look at the cost the tomato scare has cost and thats just a small thing. They could be workers in the field or processing plant. Rub a little e-coli or salmonella in the food and it cost millions if not billions. Just another way to bring fear into our everyday lives. Do you think this could be a reality?

I can't believe that the feds, and a large segment of the public, are willing to crush entire industries in some wild goose chase over bacteria.

Hey, America! THERE ARE GERMS OUT THERE! People get sick, people die, people fertilize crops with feces. It's always been that way!

What's the alternative? Without manure, there wouldn't be enough food.

What about when you buy a BLT out. Youcan't take it all apart and wash it. You must trust its clean already and the people handling it are also......but my point was that as easy as it is to "shake up" the food industry, this would be something terrorist could easily do and make a big impact and we couldnt do much to stop it.

Salmon + Vanilla = Salmonilla?

Many years ago folks would get sick from eating food tainted by Salmonella and it was just part of life. Got a belly ache threw up or got the green apple quick step, had a hard night but made it threw alright. I don't recall hearing about people dying so much from this though, maybe the strain has gotten stronger?

Like the recent outbreak with the tomatoes and now the hot peppers...nature is weird sometimes, but it would be very easy for a terrorist to taint the food crops on a large scale with a co-ordinated effort.
