Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default An Evangelical on Rev. Dobson

"[C]ritics of Obama have an obligation to provide a fair and honest critique, and the attacks leveled by Dobson fall terribly short of that standard.
If Christian conservatives want to be taken seriously, they need to make serious arguments and speak with intellectual integrity. In this instance, Dobson didn't. He has set back his cause and made some of us who are evangelicals and conservatives wince."

Sounds like a personal problem of Dobson. Not a big fan of him myself. But he has alot of good points about bama. Bama is a fake, and trying to get evangelical votes. But his past actions and association with wright tells us conservative Christians all we need to know about bama.

And Obama's criticism of Dobson that started this little spat was, I suppose, fair and honest?

Sure it was.

Personally, I thought Dr. Dobson's tirade was strongly worded for him; he typically doesn't speak out that strongly. But I can't really disagree with what he had to say. I think, when you look at the way Obama has approached the subject of Christianity, Dobson's description was fairly accurate.

Remember that it was Obama, not Dobson, who started the war of words between the 2 men.

Doesn't matter, JD bears the greater responsibility being the teacher of the subject and look at it this way; I'm sure he has felt the weight of saying something questionable, that should cause him to be very patient with others he suspects of doing the same since he's walked in those shoes. Should have just called the man and talked to him privatly.

In all likelihood the media has taken things out of context and created this circus.

People could read the book for themselves and see if they agree with either. I mean after all it has played a central role in the making of history for multiple centuries. Then again why should we be any different than the multitudes of the past who acted not on what they read, but what they were told it said. Many of them at least had an excuse, most couldn"t read much less the langue it was in or the availability of it. I wonder how many people who are chiming in on the subject now have ever read it, or even came to the conclusion they should.
