Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Yep. The Democrats want us paying $10.00 per gallon... The less money we have, the more reliant we'll be on the government to care for us from cradle to grave, and the easier we'll be to control.

I like Dennis Miller's take on ol' Harry...

I suspect that any fan of Reid wouldn't understand a fourth of what Miller said...

There is a common psychology or world view of democrats and liberals. I may not fully articulate or sufficiently articulate this, but I think this common psychology is essential to understanding them. I think they share a psychology of fear and disempowerment. They complain about the use of oil and coal but have no real alternatives to present. They complain about the handling of foreign policy but propose no real alternatives (is "just pull everything out, right now!" a foreign policy?). They complain about climate change, but do not propose any real solution. They are just a bunch of complainers. To hear them tell it, the life we live in this country today is worse than death or the plague. Far from this, most of the people I know are doing fine. They are healthy -- if they don't smoke and they exercise and they don't drink or drug themselves to death -- and get the healthcare they need. Without going off track and ennumerating these things, let it just be said there have been much, much worse conditions suffered by our people than those we see today, folks. And yet it would not appear that way from the wailing and nashing of teeth of Democrats. Cry babies and complainers who won't stand up and offer real solutions. Harry Reid's solution -- just say no to oil and coal -- ain't a solution. Madison, Wisconsin, banning construction of new drive through businesses to combat climate change, ain't a solution. Brussel's airport levvying a "global warming" tax on flights ain't a solution.

Typical dipsheit alarmist, all smoke and mirrors but no solution. It is technologically impossible for our society, the whole world included, to simply change to another energy source at this time. There is no universal source like petroleum that can provide for us at least cost, no viable alternative fuel/product source at all, and no infrastructure to deliver it to the consumer. So what's their take on that? What's their answer to that little conundrum?
(Insert crickets chirping)

I think Harry Reid's energy plan is for us to devolve into the energy production system portrayed in Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdrome. Recall that Tina Turner ruled "Barter Town" by virtue of controlling the energy supply: methane captured from pig stys located underground, beneath Barter Town. I think Reid wants Nancy Pelosi to take the role of Tina Turner and dress in leather outfits like Tina did. Yummy! A Democrat's dream.
