Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Iraq's oil fields open to bidders

Production could increase by 1.5 million barrels per day; Senators warn lack of plan to share oil riches among Iraqis would 'add more fuel to Iraq's civil war.'

http://money.cnn.com/2008/06/30/news/international/iraq_bids/index.htm?cnn=yes

Iraq has among the largest oil reserves in the world, with an estimated 115 billion barrels -- tying Iran for the No. 2 status behind Saudi Arabia's 264 billion barrels, according to estimates from the Energy Information Administration.

The six oil fields that will be open to development are in the Kirkuk oil fields and the neighboring Bai Hassan fields in northern Iraq, Shahrastani said. They are al-Rumeila, al-Zubair, al-Qurna West, and three fields in the Maysan oil fields -- Bazirqan, Abu Gharab and Fakah.

........interesting enough, if the west controlled Iraq oil and Iranian Oil, they could invade Saudi and rip em a new one...let's get em GW...! Wooooo Hoooooo...

No we absolutely didn't because we gave it back to the people of Iraq. Also, wouldn't oil revenues allow use to get out of there faster and afford them a better chance for a stable democracy which is what our goal is?

It would but, while we are fighting "for them" our equipment is paying costs for feul comparable to that over here.. Why is it we are paying higher prices over there fighting a war for them? I think more has thier fingers in the cookie jar right now than just to hand everything back over to them..

Many on this board should be happy with the price of gas. So many on this board believe in Global Warming and even more are ticked about the goods from China being sold into this country. FYI, things are changing. Higher fuel prices are increasing the cost of doing biz with china and it's trending downward. Big article in yesterday's WSJ. So stay tuned and see what happens you may see more and more stories popping up in the future..
