Come on, now! She has the cash. Why didn't she pay the tax?
I know this is no political issue, but...
"When you're poor, it can be hard to pay the bills. When you're rich, it's hard to keep track of all the bills that need paying. It's a lesson Cindy McCain learned the hard way when NEWSWEEK raised questions about an overdue property-tax bill on a La Jolla, Calif., property owned by a trust that she oversees. Mrs. McCain is a beer heiress with an estimated $100 million fortune and, along with her husband, she owns at least seven properties, including condos in California and Arizona. San Diego County officials, it turns out, have been sending out tax notices on the La Jolla property, an oceanfront condo, for four years without receiving a response."
Wow, your a regular news reporter there. I can't believe I actually wasted my time going to a link you put. But at least it wasn't a racist biased rant on your part. Your opening your mind some.
County officials say the trust still owes an additional $1,742 for this year, an amount that is overdue and will go into default July 1
County records show the bills, which were mailed to a Phoenix address associated with Mrs. McCain's trust, were returned by the post office.
Nice try beau. Perhaps you should include the important part.

Kind of hard to pay something when you don't get the bill. I remember after my grandfather's death a bank in Canada finally caught up with me because my Grand father had some 80K in a bank and for years the interest statements were returned to them and guess what? They never got accounted for on his income taxes. All I could say, it must be nice to not know and/or worry about 80K sitting in a bank somewhere.

Correction . . . the trust didn't pay the taxes. You honestly think that Cindy McCain writes every check that the trust sends out?
Question for you, Beau Ouiville: If Michelle Obama is off-limits in this campaign, why isn't Cindy McCain? If we aren't supposed to question the side shows in the Barack Obama circus but stick to the "real issues," as you like to say, why doesn't the same apply to John McCain. Or has the candidate's wife's trust's secretary's negligence become a political issue while I wasn't looking? Why don't you practice what you preach?
Or maybe you're just race baiting?

There certainly was no racial quotient to my post. It had nothing to do with race. Isn't it the white folks who say you can't criticize a black person without being called a racist? Now anything about Cindy is race baiting? You'll have to explain that one. And, I think Obama was wrong in saying his wife was off limits. If she does campaign appearances, what she says and doesis fair game.
How many here believe that Michelle would have received a pass if this was her? The conservatives would be cackling for weeks!
B.O. why don't your post something relevant ?. Are you jealous that she is worth 100,000,000 more then you are? You want to talk substance, lets talk about Obamas dealings with Rezko which are really questionable and not an accounting error.

Good God, you don't think a democrat knows how a legal corporation or trust is run do you? They are just envious that someone else has all the brains to make that money.

Oh, I was just playing your game. There isn't any racial quotient in many of the posts here that criticize Obama, yet you've been somewhat consistent in claiming that folks are race-baiting because they dare to disagree with a black person.

Typical leftist smear tactic. You quote part of the article and leave out a whole slew of material facts. Pathetic.

County records show the bills, which were mailed to a Phoenix address associated with Mrs. McCain's trust, were returned by the post office. According to a McCain campaign aide, who requested anonymity when discussing a private matter, an elderly aunt of Mrs. McCain's lives in the condo, and the bank that manages the trust has not been receiving tax bills on the property. Shortly after NEWSWEEK inquired about the matter, the McCain aide e-mailed a receipt dated Friday, June 27, confirming payment by the trust to San Diego County in the amount of $6,744.42. County officials say the trust still owes an additional $1,742 for this year, an amount that is overdue and will go into default July 1. Told of the outstanding $1,742, the aide said: "The trust has paid all bills shown owing as of today and will pay all other bills due."
1. No one ever got the bill.
2. The property is managed by a bank, not by McCain.
3. When she found out about the bill, it was paid immediately.
