Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Obama & Patriotism

Because he has found patriotism for the first time and during an election year , imagine that?

Below is his recent statement about his patriotism.Anyone notice he is now wearing the flag on his lapel?

"Ihave found, for the first time, my patriotism challenged _ at times as a result of my own carelessness, more often as a result of the desire by some to score political points and raise fears about who I am and what I stand for," he said before a crowd of a few hundred people at the Truman Memorial Building here. "I will never question the patriotism of others in this campaign. And I will not stand idly by when I hear others question mine."
Obama also sought to tamp down controversy surrounding comments over the weekend from a supporter. Retired Gen. Wesley Clark said in a television appearance that the Vietnam War-era military service of John McCain, Obama's Republican opponent, does not necessarily qualify him to be commander in chief.
McCain was a fighter pilot who was captured and held as a prisoner of war for more than five years.
Obama said that patriotism "must, if it is to mean anything, involve the willingness to sacrifice" and sought to distance himself from Clark's remarks without mentioning them.
"For those like John McCain who have endured physical torment in service to our country _ no further proof of such sacrifice is necessary," Obama said. "And let me also add that no one should ever devalue that service, especially for the sake of a political campaign, and that goes for supporters on both sides."
The comment drew loud applause.

Just see who this person is associated with currently and in the past and what his wife said concerning how for the fiirst time she was proud to be an american. He is trying to reinvent himself and it is going to backfire badly for him.

I agree with his statement....Why does he need to wear a "billboard" stateing his patriotism? Just because it's the "politically" right thing to do? I could give a rats @ss if he wears a flag pin made that's prob. madein China or not, my vote, and I hope to hell everybody else's isn't going to be based on whether he or McCainwears a flag.

Gotta love Obama's insinuation that McCain has questioned his patriotism. IMO, McCain has taken the high road in this campaign so far. Unless I'm mistaken, McCain has yet to wade into the attacks against Obama and has so far stayed with attacking Obama's policies on the issues. I don't think Obama can say the same.

(Along similar lines, while I think that McCain supporters should without question stay away from the mud-slinging about Obama's patriotism or lack thereof, supposed Muslim upbringing, etc., it humors me to read the comments from Democrats who whine about Obama being attacked because he supposedly isn't patriotic enough, and then in the next breath they criticize McCain because of his age.

Now that he has the nomination, it is natural for Obama to start shifting a bit toward center, since that is where he needs the votes.

Nobody asked him to wear a billboard, only to demonstrate he's not either spinelss or a hate-mongering
piece of crap. That being said, AS THE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNTRY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, HE'D DAMN WELL BETTER BE PATRIOTIC AND DEMONSTRATE IT !!! THat's what it's all about, stupid ! Who is the president, if not MR.UnitedStatesofAmerica ? To refuse to wear a flag pin ???? WHY NOT ??? DOES IT EMBARASS HIM TO DO SO ????? I question his patriotism, I question his motives for seeking the highest office in the land, I question his record, I question his positions, I question EVERYTHING about this socialist crap-bag. I question how much influence his hateful wife has on the decisions he makes. For most folks, HE COMES UP WANTING. Cripes...I can't believe people need this explained to them...

"You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a pin," Obama said. "Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we're talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won't wear that pin on my chest.

This is Obama's comment about the lapel pin. So if you wear one, or by extension, sport some other symbol of our country, you DON'T HAVE TRUE PATRIOTISM.

I wonder if he feels the same way about flying a flag in front of your house.

Man........... You are full of it up to your eyeballs. What about the current president was he Mr. UnitedStates when he went AWOL from his reserve unit, was that considered to be more or less patriotic than wearing a PIN. I am assuming you were a Bush supporter if not then this does not apply to you. Mccain serving in the military does not make him more patriotic than Obama
Some people look at the stupidest things and blow it all out of proportion.

He dont love America because he wasnt WEARING A FLAG PIN........... please man go listen to some more Toby Keith albums and quit blowing things out of proportion.
