Default Bush to Congress: Embrace energy exploration

WASHINGTON - With gasoline topping $4 a gallon, President Bush urged Congress on Wednesday to lift its long-standing ban on offshore oil and gas drilling, saying the United States needs to increase its energy production. Democrats quickly rejected the idea.

Fools. Morons. Idiots.

Apparently they believe there is more money to be scammed from people by buying and selling carbon credits. After all, it's increased Algore's portfolio from $1.5 Million to $100 Million...

Funny, but gas is now back to around 3.80 a gallon in some places here, after peaking at 3.99. That is after folks were saying that it would get well over 4 bucks a gallon and stay there by the time that peak travel season (now) got here.

Yeah, he's probably not in charge of filling up the limo. But, I don't think his call for drilling off our coasts is new, is it?

Interesting. Charles Krautheimmer and Mark Shields had some conversations about this. When it came to greedy oil companies, Shields spoke of a guy who drives 50 miles to work every day because he can't afford housing near work, and how much gas prices hammer him.

When it comes to environmental issues and drilling, suddenly, that guy doesn't mean anything to him. Instead, he talks about the pristine view obstructed by oil derricks as why we shouldn't drill to get more oil and drives the cost of gas down!

Interesting howliberals can shift their concern and put "views" of the oceanabove people being able to get by!

Hillbilly,
I don't guess you remember the 2001 "Bush Cheney"energy bill that passed the house, but never got through the Senate for Bush to sign.

I'd say Bush was on top of it way before it got to $2.00, let alone $4.00.
