Bush Fails Again

The news is reporting that dozens of levees along the Mississippi could fail because of the flooding caused by the heavy rainfalls resulting from Bush administration policies.

Later this summer when some part of the country is getting baked in a drought, it will be Bush's fault too[&:]

Been there, done that. Those floods are a major PIA. The darn mud gets everywhere and shows up for years afterward. I feel for the victims.

Still gripes my butt when I hear a blurb about Katrina destroying N.O. Katrina destroyed the MS gulfcoast--crooked politicians pocketing money appropriated for fixing their levee system destroyed N.O. Guess that was President Bush's fault too.

I hate it for those folks, but the fact of the matter is simple: sooner or later, rivers flood. You live near a river, you better be sure you have a plan. It's not the government's fault if you don't have a plan, and it's not the POTUS's fault if your state/local politicians pocket money that was supposed to be used to prepare for a flood.

Strange thing--President Bush hasn'tcaused a bunch of people to refuse to evacuate, loot and steal, shoot at the people trying to help them, holler for gov't handouts, etc. etc. etc. in IL and IA like he did in N.O. Guess he slipped up on this one.

I was in Iowa City when it (and much of the upper Midwest) was badly flooded in 1993. I don't recall much finger pointing back then, people tended to accept the fact that if you live in a flood prone area, you are gonna get nailed from time to time.

Nobody blames Bush for the hurricane flooding the city, The federal govt was faulted for having an extremely slow response time that is where Bush picks up the blame.
