Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Most of it sounds reasonable to be. Why do we need to weaponize space, why do we need to invest more in our nuclear arms.
Go ahead and take the ICBM's off the hair trigger.

I see nothing wrong with downsizing the nuclear weapons, he did not say he would cut personnell, or sell off aircraft carriers, or ground the jets.

I understand that our country is the powerful nation that it is today because in large part of our military, he is trimming off some of the excess fat.
Just because he wants to cut back on the nuclear weapons doesnt mean he is going to try to take our guns, and by no means would I consider our country defenceless.

One concern I want to point out is the cut of future combat systems, that is pretty broad I would have a few questions about what that all intails, I am all about the development of armoured vehicles and body armour.

There you have it, straight from the jack@ss' mouth. Do we kindly ask China not to attack Taiwan, or us for that matter, or not to destroy our satellites in space because we don't have any military capability in space to counteract? I thought we learned under Reagan that peace can only be achieved through strength, and that the best defense is a good offense! [:@]

Honestly I thought we already the capability to shoot down satellites in space, so unless the Chinese build star wars type space ships ther they can only attack our satellites from the ground, which we can defend aginst.

Look here if you dont beleive me. Why not save a little money and just maintain what we got.

Also I dont care who you are you have no way of knowing exactly how many ICBM's or nuclear warheads the US has. I have heard estimates of about 5,000 nukes. How many times do you want the capability to blow up the Earth. I am just saying we shoot 200 nukes then China shoots what they got and it is game over for humanity, sorry. So why not trim the fat off that excess and use it somewhere else. ( not saying that Obama will use it wisely by no means) And at the same time try to relax some (if any) of the tension between us and the Russians.

I mean it just sounded reasonable to me.

Because that would be the exact opposite of what Russia, China, India, and Pakistan are doing as we speak. The Cold War goes on, and the stakes are as high today as they ever have been. Nuclear stockpiles in the East continue to grow, and no country is going to stop simply because we do.

If you think about it it doesnt matter, we already have enough to blow up the worls like 8 times, so explain the logic in making more. just maintain what we got.
Look dude, if ICBM's go off between us and China, we wont even need half of what we got, in a matter of minutes it would all be over.

we already spend more on our military than the rest of the world combined. i suspect we can still field the best miltary on earth by spending, say just 35 or 40 % more than the rest of the world.

I think about it every day...

That's just not how Deterrence, let alone Deterrence II works. Logic and nuclear war don't exactly go hand in hand. One of the only ways to deter a rather determined enemy to make it obvious that no matter what they do to us, we will ensure that there will beabsolutely nothing left on their side. Overwhelming force is all that some people understand. We must make sure they understand without any doubt.
