I am contributing to both global warming and higher prices at the pump. I'm allowing my son to ride his 5 hp go kart up and down the street. He just did his repairs on it yesterday with two new tires and regreased the chain. I'm sure he is just joy riding out there. Too hot to do much anything else right now.

so YOU'RE to blame? I'm currently enduring an endless conference call on my back porch (primarily so i can enjoy this fine macanudo) in 98 degree weather. as long as i know who's responsible for this unseasonal heat...
Riding on the road? Hope you're local cops are better then ours when it comes to stuff like that. Plus it's kinda hard for a car to see a go cart isn't it?

Don't fret it. I heard this week that some where, I think Oregon, they are talking about banning bon fires because...............................well isn't it obvious,........................................ they contribute to global warming![]

I had one when I was a kid (late 50's) and raced it all around our street which was like an oval. The neighbors all got together and told my father he had to make me stop. They all had kids and I was the only lucky one to have a go-cart. They were all jealous so I would drive it over to a school parking lot and race it in the evening when nobody was there. On rainy days I would still take it around the street though. I drove that thing all over the pub roads and never had a cop come to the house. Different times and certainly a different place.

Too busy with fishing to spend much time here.
I never was one of the lucky ones to have one. However, my kids do and have been riding it for years around my neighborhood. It's a 1 mile loop and the HOA regulations went into effect just after I got it (bought it off the neighbor who's boy rode it when he was young). It doesn't state anywhere in the regulations saying it's illegal. Besides, being the HOA President, who are they going to complain to anyway?
