I'm afraid the next four years are going to be rough regardless--but I also think one will be a lot worse than the other. At least with McCain anda dem controlled Congress nobody will be able to get much, if anything, done. Unfortunately I see that as a best case scenario.

where do you stand on this big country? wait, i know, all lies perpetrated by the liberal media. the best stuff is the iraq portion. the "foriegn policy expert" having to be told what's going on by liberman. hilarious. maybe if obama went over there for a photo op like Mc Cain, hewould be considered an "expert" on foriegn policy too. what a joke. Mc Cain is an adulterer, a liar, and he doesn't feel it's necessary to do his job (missed 60% of votes in the senate). this is the republicans guy. nice.
McCain is going to have to wage a strong campaign if he wants to win. I saw one of his ads this morning. The "put grandpa in charge and everything will be good" approach is not gonna work.
There is one lesson to be learned from Obama's campaign. People want "CHANGE." What kind of change? I can only speak from one conservative family's viewpoint, but here it is.
1- An end to the war in Iraq. My husband is a veteran and we support the guys doing the fighting there. But our military presence should have ended the moment Saddam landed at the end of that rope. Those people were happy that we drove him out. But they don't like us and they don't like our culture. We need to declare a victory and leave.
2- Lower fuel prices. And that includes natural gas. The president doesn't have direct control over that. But he has access to information that we don't have and he has a huge ability to influence outcomes. The president can inspire a public campaign to demand Congress allow us to start tapping our own resouces. McCain is in a much better position to do that than Obama and needs to make it clear in his campaign.
3- An improved economy. That generally results when taxes are lowered. Once again, McCain is in a better position to promote that than is Obama.
McCain has to start promoting the concept that he will bring about more and better "change" than Obama. The "grandpa knows best" act ain't gonna cut it. Obama is already painting McCain as Dubya the Second. If he gets away with that, McCain doesn't have a chance.

I haven't researched the other charges, so I'll just address this one. EVERY time Senators run for President, they miss a lot of votes. When Kerry ran, he missed over 70% of the votes that year, and I don't recall a single conservative or anyone else on this site making a big deal about that. When McCain is not running for President, he misses about 4%. It's just plain, simple stupidity to keep bringing this up.
I haven't brought it up once. I don't care what his middle name is. He is wrong on virtually every policy position, so I've got plenty of real reasons to vote against him.
