They'll both be looking for someone who can pull votes from constituencies where they are weak. Clinton has a following, but there are also a lot of people who really dislike her. Obama may have to go with someone more neutral. Also, I find it hard to believe she would settle for being vice president.
McCain is in the same fix. Huckabee would pull in votes where McCain is not popular. Some would be put off by Huckabee's fundamentalist religious beliefs, but I think he's a good enough speaker to overcome that. His speaking ability would also compensate for a McCain weakness in that area.
I think McCain won mostly by virtue of name recognition. A Huckabee v. Romney primary campaign would have been a lot more interesting.

I think the usual suspects are off the table. Huckabee doesn't have a chance in hell, IMHO. Too conservative, too religious. America just isn't buying into the far-right ideologues this year. He had his chance, and he lost. Who wants to put a loser on the ticket?
Same goes with Edwards. Looks only go so far, even here in the U.S. Not only is he a loser, but he's anotherrich lawyer who happens to give lip service to liberal ideals. What does he have to offer Obama? Nothing...
The best candidates for the Vice Presidency are people who aren't career politicians and don't have a lot of baggage from hanging around Washington too long. Maybe a respected, yet small-time Representative, or a career military man.

You may be right. Anyone who spends any time in Washington is bought and paid for many times over.

No one votes for the VP ever and that is a fact. They look at the VP as the first choice expected out of a New Prez. My guess it will be Romney for McCain and Joe Biden for Obama. Webb has be tossed around but I just don't think he will be the guy for VP. If anything Obama will throw his name out there for Defense baiting the public if he get's the nod.

I'd even vote for Obama if he had Hallie Barry as VP!!!
I'm hoping McCain would take Sarah Palin as VP, but I'm pretty sure thats not gonna happen. It sure would make it easier to vote for him though.
