Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Bush misused Iraq intelligence: Senate report

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/iraq_usa_intelligence_dc

Quote:
PUBLIC CAMPAIGN

The long-delayed Senate study supported previous reports and findings that the administration's main cases for war -- that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and was spreading them to terrorists -- were inaccurate and deeply flawed.

The president and his advisors undertook a relentless public campaign in the aftermath of the (September 11) attacks to use the war against al Qaeda as a justification for overthrowing Saddam Hussein," Rockefeller said in written commentary on the report.

"Representing to the American people that the two had an operational partnership and posed a single, indistinguishable threat was fundamentally misleading and led the nation to war on false premises."

A statement to Congress by then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld that the Iraqi government hid weapons of mass destruction in facilities underground was not backed up by intelligence information, the report said. Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon said Rumsfeld's comments should be investigated further, but he stopped short of urging a criminal probe.

Actually Falcon, what you are asking us to do is to take the writen word by a reporter who has an agenda (I don't know what the agenda might be) and take it as being true. Here is the link: I was glancing through it admittingly only reading the bold conclusions and right now, the article doesn't support the evidence on face value. I will take the time tonight or this weekend to read the full report myself and come to my own conclusion. It is 172 pages long.

I wouldn't read a 172 page congressionalreport if hell froze over. Besides the pigs are calling me.

Good go and shoot one for me. However you really should. So far the first 9 conclusions paint a different story then the article you posted.

Wow, I can't image why the Senate sat on this until now?-FM

The Bush adminstration has placed a high premium on loyalty. Now that it's late inthe last term and folks are starting to feel safe from serious repercussions, I suspect that a lot of"skeletons" will start falling out of closets.
