Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I read something on another blog where someone thought a good choice for Obama as a running mate would be Colin Powell. He thought that Powell would neutralize Obama's lack of military experience. Military experience or not their is absolutely NO way that I can see two black men on a ticket being voted President and Vice-President of the US. Just WON'T happen! In fact, I even have a hard time visualizing one black man on top of the ticket being on the winning end. Hopefully I won't have to eat my hat about this come November.

maybe a black Pres. wouldnt be such a bad thing. Maybe we could get this illegal immigration thing worked out. We all know blacks and hispanics dont get along with eachother.

I COULD see blacks wanting to keep the hispanics out more than whites would. This way they wouldn't have any competion with government social programs. They would have it all to themselves then.

I doubt that would happen since Powell is a Republican. And before Duane chimes in to say it... neither Powell or Obama are black. They are half black which makes them half white. If Powell were on McCain's ticket it would solidify the military and diplomatic connection and provide a way to siphon off Obama"™s minority vote. In addition he is someone who has positive ratings in a big way with the American people.

I know Powell is a republican, that is just another reason why I thought the scenario was absurd. I really don't think if Powell ran with McCain that he would help siphon off very much if any of the minority vote. Surely not enough to make any real difference. Obama is who the blacks will be voting for in November. He connects with them more than Powell could ever dream of. I can assure Obama that this unending support from blacks will hurt him more than it will help him in the November election. He may get 100% of their vote, but this will just scare more whites into voting for McCain in my opinon. When loudmouth blacks like Sharpton and Jackson start tooting Obama's horn in the coming months is when whites will finally wake-up and smell the coffee here. At least I hope they do.
